lol @ wussy. Sorry folks, but if you go "camping" in the comforts of home, you're not camping.....you're simply relocating lol.
I LOVE rustic camping. Tent/sleeping on a sleeping bag and fishin' for lunch. You name it! Who else camps and how do you do it?

I've not been camping for a long time.
03/12/2012
I don't think I've ever camped, that's just not for me.

We used to do what you call "semi-rustic" camping. A tent etc. No electricity, except for in the shower house. It was fun when I was much younger and had the energy and the stamina to hold up during the.... ordeal. (And it was always an ordeal.)
We haven't gone in years. I have fibromyalgia and even with a pad or a blow up mattress, sleeping on the ground will cause me to be unable to move. My husband is also in his 50s and it's more difficult for him. Although, he did go backpacking, very rustic, all by himself on Isle Royale (and island in Lake Superior between the UP of Michigan and Canada, several years ago. He trained for months before he went.)
I've gotten to the point where I don't want vacation to be MORE DIFFICULT than every day life. I want to relax, not live like an animal. No more camping for me.

love roughin it!

A little of both. I haven't been camping for ages though, I miss it.

somewhat rustic! preferably somewhere in the middle of nowhere (but with cellphone service, in case we get lost from each other, or something bad happens) and some food brought along. I don't like fish, so fishing for food would be a no-go!
03/12/2012
As long as there's water, I'm good. I love camping.
03/12/2012
I LOVE camping, but haven't gotten to do it in so long! We'd bring a tent, sleeping bags, and some food to cook over the fire.
We'd hike a couple miles up the Appalachian trail to Annapolis Rock, and camp there.

The point of camping for me is to get away from it all----lets go Rustic!!!
03/12/2012
I don't need a camper or cabin to go "camping" but I don't have any interest in going without a tent or some kind of shelter. Too many bugs otherwise!
03/12/2012
If you're not sleeping in a tent, then you're not really camping. You're on vacation if you're in a camper or trailer.

ug...I have always hated camping

Somewhat rustic for me, I enjoy camping.
My husband's idea of camping would be a Super 8.

I don't know how to hunt or anything, but I have been camping without amenities. Last time we went, it rained so hard that our tent flooded.

Love camping! We typically just throw things in the back of the truck, pick a spot on the map, and get as close to it as we can.
We've always slept in a tent or in the bed of the truck under the stars. Oh, I wish it was warm enough to do that now!

Me and my friends camp every year for the past ten years, as people got older the comfort they brought increased. Everyone still uses tents but don't them holding off too much longer.

Somewhat rustic. We sleep in tents and cook over a campfire. We don't have the patience to go out and catch our dinner before eating, lol
03/13/2012
Very rustic, middle of nowhere is excellent, some survival necessities, GATHER my own dinner.
03/13/2012
I like rustic camping for the most part, sleeping on the ground, etc, with a campfire. But we take our own food
03/13/2012
I hate the outdoors period. So no camping for me.
03/13/2012
I love camping, it really brings you closer to people you go with.
I prefer camping in a tent unless I know a really bad thunderstorm is on the way myself. ^_^

Mostly rustic.

For me, camping means my hotel doesn't have a mini-fridge and a microwave.
03/13/2012
I've only camped a handful of times, and it's never been in a tent. Once or twice I slept in the car while everyone else used the tent, and other times a camper was involved. I don't mind being out and about in the woods, but when it comes to sleep I just feel better in something sturdy. Not waking up to freezing cold is also nice. I love the natural world, but in many ways I'm also very much a city kid.
03/13/2012
It always depends on the place and my mood, I like comfort, but I am fine with minimal accessories too...
03/13/2012
If there is no air conditioning or heat-I'm not going. Load up my camper and I'm game.
03/13/2012
It depends on where it is, and O/our M/mood with my Master - sometimes totally rustic stuff is most fun and exciting, and sometimes you just want it a little cozier, with more things to help you out... ^^

I hate camping.
I like being out in nature... Just renting a fancy cabin to do so.

I like a tent
03/14/2012
I'll gladly sleep in a tent but there's no way I'm crapping in a hole in the woods. XD
03/14/2012
Some amenities, enough to provide general safety from long term danger elements. Illness, food poisoning, bug work, and temperature elements to an extent.
03/14/2012
I love camping. I can go rustic, but I cannot go without a toilet or a tent to keep the bugs off of me.
03/14/2012
I've only been camping one time, and that was back when I was a teenager. We camped in a tent, but at a campsite, so we could walk to the bathrooms, take a shower with the spiders, etc. I'm not sure if that counts as rustic or not. LOL (Since I only went the one time.)

love the outdoors but i am NOT going to catch my own food

In the middle of the woods...well...where is room service???
(Seriously...I am GLAD some folks love the outdoors stuff. We just happen to be INDOORS people).

Anything more primitive then hunting for something in a Styrofoam box, is a little TOO wild for me.
