The manager is going to give the employee some nice products today for their effort and willingness to go the extra mile.
I've been to many stores where the floor clerks just don't have time to assist me and some are flat out rude. I like to mention when someone is extraordinary.

Yes many, many, many times. I actually have contacted three different companies in the last two months for something like this! I am very appreciative to those who are nice to me. Last week I actually sent SubWay AND Taco Bell a letter bragging about their employees. I visit both regularly and they have amazing employees. Taco Bell's are so nice to me & SubWay's are too, and there's two employees there that always make me laugh, so yes, I always make sure to go out of my way to put in a kind comment about a company's employees when they really stand out to me. A couple months ago, a girl at Ingles was very, very helpful and so kind to me & I went home and emailed Ingles to let them know. Good employees should be appreciated. Good people period should be, so I really like to kind of pay pack the people who are kind, especially when I think about how long they've stood there taking orders all day and then they go out of their way to make me smile.
I was shocked to see the majority of people here never have done this.
If you experience total rudeness, that too is grounds to make a comment. First though, I take it up with the person instead of going straight to their manager because sometimes it's a misunderstanding. I can think of one in particular where I thought a girl was being rude to me. I thought she said "well duh!" while I was paying for my things, but it was a misunderstanding and it's a good thing I took it up with her instead of running to her manager. Also, I always give someone a chance because I don't know what has caused them to be upset that day, but if they're very nasty to me, then I can't write that off as a bad day. Having a bad day is no excuse to be hurtful or totally mean. It's best to say something to THEM, but I'd have no qualms going to a manager if someone really crossed the line.
