Belts are belts.
"Which do you hold your trousers/pants up with?" sort of question.

Sorry I wasn't more clear. I prefer braces or suspenders with business dress, belt of course for casual.

If i need something to hold up my pants, I go to the store and get a smaller size of pants.

It depends on the outfit and the material of the braces. If it's done as part of a snazzy suit then braces but otherwise I prefer to wear, and see my guys in, a belt.

I've never heard suspenders referred to as "braces" but I'm glad I read the comments. I prefer a belt if I have to wear anything~

Neither.

I prefer a belt to hold up my pants and braces to straighten my teeth. I tried a belt across my teeth, and it not only didn't feel good, but my teeth were not straight and make no mistake, when I tried to use braces to hold up my pants, I was a real source of strange stares up and down the street.

Of course, if you are speaking in British terms, then I prefer belts to what we call "suspenders" here in the colonies.
While some very fancy Tuxedos look good with suspenders, a belt is more "standard" dress for casual to fancy.

I use a belt! I prefer a belt. If one has back problems then using braces will help avoid having back problems with the weight of a belt on your hips. It's a proven fact!
And I have used both before and not at the same time.

I think in that case I'd say belts, suspenders just aren't my thing and I'm not excessively fond of them on men most of the time either.
Although they do work well with steam punk attire.
