I have no idea what this type of "clothing" is called but you wear it under your clothing and it is supposed to sort of "suck-in" your stomach. They are not corsets, but have the same sort of effect and I think they are a thinner material. I have only heard of things like this, but never seen any, and have no idea where to look into this. I was wondering if anyone has heard of this, had experience with this sort of clothing, and if you could lead me in the right direction. Thanks!
Body-shaping tops you wear under your shirts (need some help)

They're called Spanx. They come in a wide variety of styles and thicknesses. If you google it you can find places that sell them online.

Or cami-shapers. Dollar General carries them now - although I definitely say go with Spanx since they're better quality.

Have either of you tried the products or use them regularly?

my sister bought one at kohls or dillards once. she loves it. they're not specifically meant to make you look thinner, but to make you look smoother. like when you wear a tight top & your bra may be a little tight, the spanx smooth you so that the slight bulge of fat coming out of the top & bottom of the bra strap is smoothed.

Shape-wear. There are different strengths of it ranging from the amount of compression you get from wearing leggings to garments that can take an inch or two off your waist line. Go to your local lingerie shop and I'm sure one of the folks there will be able to help you out.

I have two pairs of Spanx that my sister gave me. Both are ridiculously tight. Maybe they're supposed to be that way. I'm not sure. The problem with them for me is that at the point where they stop, the real me balloons out. Definitely not an overall improvement. I would need something that went down to my knees. They make them that way, BTW.

They're called "Shape-wear". Spanx is a brand name of that - much like "Kleenex" is a brand name of tissues.
They don't really make you smaller for the most part - certainly not like a corset. They are intended to smooth out lumps and rolls from body fat. For example, if your clothes normally end up showing off any rolls in your body, Spanx is there to help keep a non-roll silhouette. Usually, this type of item is listed under the "underclothes" section of a website near panties or bras. I know plus-size sites almost-always have them, but I'm not so sure about regular-sized clothing sites. If you hit a stopping point, you can always just google "Spanx" and purchase some of theirs off of their website.

I just checked out the Spanx website. Holy crap, that is expensive! I really didn't have any idea how much they would be, but I seen some items around $100..Crap, that is too much for me right now. And yes, I wasn't really looking for slimming, but smoothing like a lot of you have said. Wrong word choice, sorry about that! I have a few shirts that like to stick to my body sometimes, and they are lovely shirts, but when they cling on to certain areas, it's no longer comfortable to me. I'm not sure if I want to pay $100 bucks though since I wouldn't need it with all of my clothing, just a few pieces. I might look on Ebay or the similar later on to see if there are any items from that brand at a lower price.
Thanks for the help everyone!
