Best quotes

Ok, this should be fairly self explanatory, and I've seen it go swimmingly on other forums, so without having seen one here already, I figured, why not.

So how this works is you tell us some of the best quotes you've heard in your time. They can be original, heard in a movie, or stolen from the internet (just tell us when you're stealing so you can be disciplined appropriately ), just so long as you thought they were worth repeating.

Have fun

I'll just copy and paste from my Facebook quote section:

"And I am unanimous in this!" - Mrs. Slocoumbe, 'Are You Being Served?'

"That's it - I'm finished. There's not one worth shavin' your legs for." - Rose, 'Keeping Up Appearances'

"Tire tracks and broken hearts / is all we're leaving behind / It doesn't matter what we're losing / only matters what we're going to find." - Meat Loaf

"Sometimes I wonder if men and women really suit each other. Perhaps they should live next door and just visit now and then." - Katharine Hepburn

"Someday, after mastering the winds, the waves, the tides and gravity, we shall harness for God the energies of love, and then, for a second time in the history of the world, man will have discovered fire." - Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

I almost got it as a tattoo. I instead ended up getting "Enjoy what you can, endure what you must" around my left ankle and "Even heroes know when to be scared" around my right. I can't remember who the author of the first was but the second one is a lyric from "Slip Out The Back" by Fort Minor

"It's a rock." --Princess Dot, from A Bug's Life, quite possibly the best Pixar movie ever made (but pretty much all Pixar movies are highly quotable).

"I miss you cupcake" - GIR

pretty much everything GIR says applies to life:

"I'm gonna sing the Doom song now"
"To make room for the tuna"
"I saw squirrel"
"Can I be a mongoose dog?"

"My mind is going. I can feel it." HAL, in 2001.

I hate the movie, but I love that quote. That's even what my computer says when I shut it down

Gary loves all the sad old songs.

There are so many amazing lyrics... hard to choose just a few.

Although.. I can leave you with things my grandparents said when I was little, that stuck in my head:

Poppy: "You make a better door than a window"

Nanna: "Love many, trust few, and always paddle your own canoe."

I know they didn't make up those sayings, but they sure used them enough for me to remember.

A few other favorites are:

"You can avoid reality, but you cannot avoid the consequences of avoiding reality." - Ayn Rand

"If you can't get rid of the skeleton in your closet, you'd best teach it to dance." - George Bernard Shaw

"Hell is other people." - Jean-Paul Sartre

"I find that the harder I work, the more luck I seem to have." - Thomas Jefferson

"I have never let my schooling interfere with my education." - Mark Twain

I agree on the song lyrics, so many fantastic ones to pick from. My mom says the door one all the time, lol.

I really like that quote by Ayn Rand, I've never heard it before but I'll be sharing it

I think there's a growing difference between porn and adult entertainment. The internet is filled with porn.

Jesse Jane, Evan Stone, and Raven Alexis do adult entertainment.

Nice!

My roommate loves fur and we live in a city where it's not uncommon for people to throw buckets of paint on fur-donning citizens. As for me, as long as the animal was not wasted (killed for the sake of their fur and nothing else) and died in a humane way, I'm fine with fur.
