Before I was trying to really lose weight for my daughters wedding I used to indulge (then bulge) with a nice A.M.Doughnut. I grew up on Dunkin Doughnuts, which I still like a lot, but then along came Krispy Kreme (with their HOT from the oven NOW) sign and all of a sudden, at least in the South, you cannot even find a remaining Dunkin Doughnut shop!!! Even in calorie conscious San Diego, where they said such a Krispy Kreme would never fly, when they opened a few years ago, lines were around the block and it still stays busy! So, when it comes time for a naughty treat....is Dunkin Doughuts or Krispy Kreme where you put your bet as the BEST?
Best Doughnut? Krispy Kreme or Dunkin Doughnuts?

There's already a discussion about doughnuts.

"Thursday, Sept. 29th is National Coffee Day. Stop by Krispy Kreme for a free 12 oz. Cup of their new House Blend Coffee. No purchase necessary. From 7am to 11am, 7-11 is giving away free medium cups of their hot coffee. One per customer, while supplies last."

I voted DnD but honestly I don't eat donuts to often but when I do its from there. it help that there is one literally around the corner from my house lol

Going to Krispy Kreme was a big deal when I was kid, so that's one reason I'm more fond of their product than Dunkin Donuts. But, I really enjoy the Munchkins (especially the chocolate and blueberry ones) from DD so it really depends on my mood, I guess.

Shoppers (our local grocery store) makes what I feel are the best donuts but of the two choices, DD
09/28/2011
I say a local bakery called Achenbach's and all of the amish stands around here have awesome donuts. Way better then KK or DD. Out of those two? I guess DD.
09/28/2011
KK is best b/c they have to hot & fresh out of the over sign, which means they'll melt in your mouth. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Dunkin Donuts just opened in our town about a year ago, but there is nothing like a warm glazed donut from Krispy Kreme. You ever have the chance to eat one fresh (watching it come out the fryer and all) take it, will change your meaning of a fresh donut, and worth the indulge.

We don't have any krispy kreme in the area, so can only get them prepackaged, which suck.
Dunkin Donuts definitely has a better selection, and their jelly are my favorite.

KK, when they're hot and fresh, but once they cool off I'm not crazy about them. My real favorite is a local place - it's been here since 1967, and it's super popular. We've had both KK and DD, but DD had to leave because our local place kicked their butt. KK is still here, but there's only 1 in the whole city, and there are 7 locations for the local place in the city!

Krispy Kreme. Come on, you cannot beat Krispy Kreme...

If you like glazed - your right, but I use to love the variety that Dunkin offers. Doesn't matter anymore, they're all so sweet that make me nauseous now.

I like homemade donuts best.
In terms of chains, I like Tim Hortons donuts.

I voted Krispy Kreme, but that might mostly be influenced by my love of their doughnut machine.
09/29/2011
I love any kind of doughnut, but I'd definitely take Krispy Kreme first.
09/29/2011
I don't eat doughnuts much, but when I do, you can't beat a hot-from-the-oven doughnut. This is why I voted for Krispy Kreme doughnuts. I love how they are so light that they melt in your mouth. We don't have a Krispy Kreme around here anymore (they closed them all down), so we haven't been to one in a couple of years though.
I think the very best doughnuts I've had were from a famous family-owned restaurant right outside of Austin: Roundrock Doughnuts. They serve hot glazed and hot chocolate-frosted doughnuts. They're both amazing.
The good thing about Dunkin Donuts (when they are freshest, which is in the morning) is that they do have a large variety that you don't find at the aforementioned places. I like their powdered munchkins and Bavarian Kreme-filled doughnut.

Holey Donuts aren't bad either, just expensive

I like donuts, but I guess I don't eat them frequently enough to have a preference where they come from
09/29/2011
Local bakery donuts are always awesome, but if I had to choose between DD and KK, I would choose KK.
09/29/2011
Krispy Kreme, but only when they're fresh. They literally melt in your mouth while you eat them. Cold, however, they're horrible.

DD all the way

we do not have DD around us any longer. The last one closed up shop about 5 years ago, maybe longer. But we do have a KK, so I voted for them. From what I remember, the KK is better then DD.
