I never have, but I don't think I'd like to! From what I've seen they aren't the type of people I tend to get along with that attend!

I would love it... any excuse for hair pieces, false eyelashes and ridiculous shoes

I haven't been in one and I don't think I would like it because I don't like being the center of attention and it would make me very nervous. I also think I would not feel like putting that much effort into making myself try to be more beautiful than a bunch of other people.

i think it would go either way for me. i do love to dress up.

I don't think I'd do very well.. I don't look like your standard size-4, tall, buxom blonde stereotype of what's "beautiful."

I'm morally against it, it's just an offensive concept in so many ways.

I replied "I have and I liked it." But, I would like to clarify this. I was not in the regular, publicized type of beauty pageant. You were not rated on your looks and they actually FORBID you from wearing any kind of makeup except clear lip gloss.
The pageant winner was based on how you did on three different interviews and an on-stage question.
In the pageant I was in, you weren't chosen based on outer beauty, but rather on your personality.
As for the common pageants nowadays, where you see people caking on makeup and and trying to "out-look" everyone else- I must say I would NEVER participate in them. It is my personal belief that putting girls up on stage and saying "You win, you're prettiest" is degrading. It also lowers others' self-confidence.
The pageant I participated in definitely boosted all participants' self-confidence and led to many lasting friendships.

I can't help but think of the show Toddlers in Tiaras whenever someone mentions pageantry these days. Those type of pageants disgust me and set these girls up for a really hard fall into reality when the real world comes knocking.

I like to dress up but I don't think I'd like the pressure.

I like dressing up, wearing makeup, and making myself look pretty, but I have enough body image issues as it is so I don't think doing a pageant would be healthy for me. I also don't like being up in front of people and I don't think I could do that well enough to be good at any sort of pageant.
I don't think they are necessarily bad, a good friend of mine did them, had a great time and made some good friends. She had a good balance about it though, she didn't let the pageant stuff define her as a person and didn't do anything extreme to try and win.

There is no "I have not, but I would like to" type of answer... Which is what I would have chosen...

Never been in one and have no desire to.
If I had a girl I'd never allow her to go into those. But fortunately we don't really do that over here!

I dunno, I think it's already pretty hard for those girls in the pageant world... I think kiddie pageants are gross, but I probably would have loved it as a kid as I have a weird obsession with wigs and costumes

I despised beauty pageants as a kid because, honestly, I knew I wasn't beautiful enough to every participate in one, and hated that feeling. Now, though, I take little issue with them.

Ages ago I was in the Miss Teen Georgia pageant. It was a bit too much for me, but I was in with a couple of friends and we had fun together.

When I feel like playing dress-up I don't need a pageant to justify the indulgence.
