Battle of the Browsers: Which do you use?

Yeah, that's pretty much my mom's reaction to it too! She was so amazed when they got wireless internet (they don't live too far from a town out in the boonies).

"I didn't know you could look at the internet that fast" was almost what she said.

I actually have more than one browser loaded on my computer, though I only use two of them. I really like the way Google Chrome looks but it just doesn't seem to be as easy to use or as issue-free as Internet Explorer. There are videos and pages that just won't work in Chrome. But when it comes down to it, as long as the internet works, I'll use whatever browser is available.

I'm guessing that you installed whatever plugins are needed - flash, window media, etc - before you installed Chrome. When you install a browser it can't know what plugins were installed for other browsers that you want to be available in the new browser. You have to reinstall them.

This is one reason why people have the illusion that IE works better. Its just that it was there first and knows about all the plugins that have been installed.

Yup, all the plug-ins and updates were done for it. I was just less than impressed with how it seemed to fluctuate between wanting to work and not. But it's still a very aesthetically pleasing browser AND has the "in cognito" option.

It did that to me, too! used to make me insane.

Chrome does have the best incognito mode.

Now I'm curious about what's going on with your Chrome installation. If you ever figure it out, let me know.

I love Firefox but find that you have to frequently update it, much more than IE. But maybe that's why it's better a bit. It's just a hassle sometimes.

I kinda wish we could choose more than one, but then I guess it'd be less of a "battle", eh? I use Chrome most of the time because it's so sleek and shiny and pretty (!!!) but there are days when I go back to Firefox, because my computer seems to like it better.

Chrome - it's faster than Firefox (which crashes on my computer all the time) and because it has "porn mode" which they call the "incognito window"

I love Chrome. I love everything Google. I am waiting for Google to become a sentient being, then maybe we can marry.

Since buying my first Mac, I am warming up to Safari a bit more.

Also I am in the beta testing of Glass so that makes me sort of want to use Firefox a bit more until the Chrome version is released but I really haven't used it too much just yet.

FIREFOX. All the way.

I used to use IE when I was younger, before I realized it was crap, & that there were better browsers available.

I used to only use IE, we just a few days ago got a new computer so now I use Firefox. Our old computer was so old that it couldn't handle anything but IE. We downloaded Firefox onto it, and had to delete it. It took about 15 minutes to start up because it was so overloaded. btw, when I say old computer, I mean I think my bf had bought it in 2000. haha.

When I got my new laptop with Vista 64bit I have a HUGE problem running IE. My tech friend told me that it was something about the add-ons and the 64bit not running well together and crashing IE. So I started using Firefox and I LOVE it!! I don't think I will ever go back to IE.

I really like Chrome because it is fast, clean and simple. However, sometimes I question the safety/security of it.

Firefox is a little slower than Chrome, but in my mind is more "safe", and more websites are compatible with Firefox than Chrome.

Internet Explorer is too slow. I only use it when whatever website I am trying to access absolutely does not work with Firefox or Chrome.

Firefox is my browser of choice. On occasion, I do use Safari and IE when I'm on other computers in the house other than my own.

Just started using Chrome and I must say the layout is so much nicer than Firefox. I gained about an inch and a half more screen and the anything goes search bar is really nice.

The only problem I have had so far is posting pic's here, when I right click on a image it only gives me the option to copy the URL, that does not seem to work most of the time.

Can't say it is faster but I like it more than Firefox.
