Battle of the Brows: Which Do You Sport or Prefer?

Contributor: Ciao. Ciao.
Maybe I'm weird, but one of the first things I notice when I'm in random places like the grocery store and see people is their eyebrows. My partner looks at teeth. Is that strange? I don't have a particular eyebrow that I see as perfect, and I look at both men's and women's but somehow huge eyebrows, really awkwardly shaped eyebrows, or over plucked/waxed brows (or no eyebrows at all!) really tend to freak me out.

Am I alone?

What are your feelings on this all important question?

I've never actually trimmed or plucked mine. One of these days, I may try it

Trimming is such a pain and luckily for me i have very light coloured eye brows so even if they get a little crazy they're still not terribly noticeable.

I pluck mine from time to time. It's supposed to make my eyes look bigger or more youthful or something.

I've been plucking mine every once and a while since I was 13 or 14. Never really gave it much thought, it seemed normal to me at the time.

I'm with Sammi. I used to pluck/trim, but I don't anymore, really.

Just pluck the stray ones that are random. My eyebrows have a really nice shape already, so, I don't need to do much.

It depends if it's a man or a woman. In my personal taste (which no one has to listen to, it's just MY personal feeling) I like a woman with neat, well defined brows, and DO NOT like men with any kind of "scaping" on their eye brows. (I know this sounds awful, but if a Gay Man waxes or plucks his brows it doesn't bother me at all, but I don't care for the look on a straight man I would otherwise be attracted to.)

I occasionally pull a stray hair out of My Man's eye brows, or he has his barber trim the really weird long hairs (no, really, he's a good looking guy) but I wear mine pretty thin and plucked and his are just the way Nature put them. JMO.

I actually use an eyebrow shaver thing, works awesome, it's easy and it's quick.

A lot of the ladies said they don't pluck or trim, some women just have shapely brows. I'm Mediterranean, I'd look like a Terrorist if I left my brows Natural.

It always amazes me when women are 'unhairy.' A friend of mine was showing me her "hairy legs" a few days ago, she hasn't shaved all summer, because she has a baby to care for, and her legs had LESS hair on them than I do on MINE, which had been shaved the day BEFORE!

No hope for swarthy women like me.

Alicia, I recently discovered those shaver things. I LOVE THEM. SO much easier than ripping your hair out.

I like neatly neatened up on guys, a fairly shaped brown on women.

Yep, I always get sneezing attacks when I tweeze and waxing makes me break out, so I was so relieved when I found those shaver things! And they're so cheap too

It's funny how different people are wired. It's probably an overstimulation of your Trigeminal nerve. (Do you get migraines? Sunlight sneezes? these are also Trigeminal nerve reactions.)

My Man sneezes if he sees the sun or eats something sweet and one of my kids vomits if she puts a Q Tip into her ear.

When I was a kid, I would want to throw up if I played with my belly button. The wiring on people is so freaking interesting.

I get my eyebrows threaded every now and then when I've failed to keep up with tweezing (just to clean up, though. I prefer to keep my natural shape), and I pluck a bit in between. So mine are fairly groomed without being creepy perfect over-groomed.

Up until last year I had never plucked, waxed, whatever. Now I get them waxed every now and then just to add some shape.

You're not alone. I hate bushy, messy looking eyebrows, over-plucked eyebrows, sparse eyebrows, and eyebrows that are so pale you can hardly see them. Once somebody told me I had really nice eyebrows and I think it actually might be my favourite compliment I've ever gotten

Also, when people shave/wax off their whole eyebrows and then draw fake ones on! So weird.

Neat and shapely, but not too sparse or fake - for myself. But on others...eh, I don't care much. I prefer to not see a uni-brow, though. I don't like noticeably groomed brows on men; natural but not super bushy looks best on men, in my opinion.

I've never plucked or waxed my brows, but I somehow get lots of compliments on my eyebrows. Lol! Go figure!

I have never once tended to mine, because I've never needed to. I have a few stray hairs somewhere along my brows, but I do not care - that's part of their shape. My partner, however, threads hers, and I have to constantly tell her to not because it aggravates me, actually. She makes them too thin, and I'd prefer it if she just left them the hell alone.

Other people's, though? Couldn't care less, honestly! Whatever they prefer, I feel!

I pluck mine a bit under to make them a bit more thinner (mine are naturally bushy like a guy's) but they're not TOO thin. I also do not like eyebrows which are obvious pencil lines, just eww!

No you are not alone! I 'judge' people by their hygiene & grooming (side note-I notice teeth too). It totally freaks me out when they are shaved off and painted on or like all over. My sister used to have bushy eyebrows before she started waxing them. I called it the 1000 acre wood. As for myself, I pluck strays and shape them every other day. I get compliments on them, so I have kept the same routine for years. I have never waxed.

My boyfriend past or present are not allowed to have anything close to a uni-brow. Gross. Thank god my bf shares this sentiment and takes care of himself. He has really nice ones actually.

I chose the last one because it made me giggle. My brows are natural, but sometimes I think of shaping them. But that's just an effort and upkeep I don't want to deal with. lol

My fave has to be the Sharpie eyebrows - for real, I have seen those.

What about the old school way, where your great great aunt obviously draws them high up on her forehead using large glasses as the stencil? Those are my favorite.

I used to take off more a few years ago, but I now prefer to pluck/wax mine just a little. Most people probably wouldn't realize that I do it--it's just to neaten them a little. The shape is pretty natural-looking. I would like it if my significant other groomed his just a little more often, but they aren't really crazy or anything. I think it makes a guy look cleaned up to pull the strays. I encourage it! I don't care for heavily plucked eyebrows, but I think it looks OK on a some ladies.

Super old-school way!! Around one thousand years ago in Japan, ladies plucked their eyebrows off completely and drew little dots high on their foreheads. They also blackened their teeth! Hotness! ?
