...did you transition, and at what age?
I'm a total coffee shop kind of girl, although I really don't hang around in a coffee shop for real long since there isn't one in my area (I know, where the hell do I live? Bum fucked Egypt? Or whatever that sayin' is) so I only get to go in one when I'm already in town for something (which is a lovely hour and a half away at the closest) so I rarely have time to just sit in there. But I love the relaxing environment and all the lovely scents in the funky coffee shop downtown! Man that place is like ba-liss!
And the bar scene was never my thing. I'm from the south. We tend to party at home. I was really young when I did my crazy drinking and partying, so I was not of age to do so in a bar. And a few years ago had a very... life changing... traumatic event and totally quit my drinking then. I went back to it (mostly only beer though, never really went back to the harder stuff that gets me super drunk) with my partner because I could no longer trust drinking around anyone else.
Then before I ever turned 21, I was done all together so the bar thing was never really my thing. Plus, I think the whole bar scene is a lot about getting attention, picking people up (for my age at least) and since my partner and I got together when I was 15 (I'm almost 23 now) I really had no more reason or interest to go bar hopping when I turned of age. Just not appealling.
So I guess I'm a weird one. We don't do bars, but we will have family & friends over on weekends and have beer every once in a while. We have a party with the whole family one day every weekend, so sometimes I'll have a drink of someone's home-made wine or shine and be done. I don't let myself have much more.
