Au Naturel?

Ladies, have you ever not shaved your legs and/or underarms for any extended period of time? I usually shave my legs, underarms and my crotch (completely bare), but I find myself going through a phase where I let it all grow out until I get tired of it. I'm going through that phase now; I haven't shaved anything in weeks. Has anyone gone through this phase? Is there anyone who's never shaved at all? Do you enjoy not shaving or keeping shaved? What does your partner think?

YES.

One of the perks of being in a long-distance relationship is being able to go for a long while without shaving. I do shave my underarms regularly, but other than that? I pretty much only shave my legs for my gynocologist (and I hope he appreciates it). Shaving is just a pain. I always get razor burn, razor refills are expensive, I always cut myself, and as my shaving my beaver? INGROWN HAIRS. I prefer to get that waxed but the only place I go to for waxings is 300 miles away in Atlanta, and there's no use going there to see my boyfriend, since he's in China now...

I always ramble

I have gone full winters without shaving anything, unless I needed to wear sheer stockings or a sleeveless dress. My Man and I used to be big Grateful Dead fans, and you see a lot of au naturel women On Tour. It gets really soft (the hair) if you go a while without shaving.

I have always shaved my underarms and legs in the summer. I am Mediterranean and pretty furry, so I can't get away with more than a day or two without shaving.

Since perimenopause, yet an other increase in my sex drive and something resembling a "mid-life crisis" about 2 years ago, I started shaving nearly daily and doing more to my pubes. But, I refuse to shave them bare, there's always a little puff over my labia. My Man has repeatedly told me he couldn't care less what I shave or how often.

Kudos to your hubby for saying that! My guy will poke me and call me "Prickles" when he thinks my shins need a shave. I tell him if it bothers him so much, that he can shave them himself.

Legs, definitely let them go, especially since I'm not in any type of relationship. Kind of freeing, actually. I don't wear shorts or short skirts, so it's not like I'm in public with it, either. I only do it now if I'm planning on wearing a short skirt somewhere or going to the doctor's. It's a pain in the ass to shave, especially since I don't have a tub to sit on and don't have the balance (and vision) to do it in the shower. (Why aren't showers ever lit properly?) I use a dishtub of water and sit in a chair to do it with lots of light.

What always got me after shaving? How painful it got in missionary position, knees bent, and the sweat at the back of the knees while going at it. I can't ever find a razor rash there, but it certainly feels like it between the sweat and movement.

There are times when I let my legs and my pubic area go without being shaved for a while. However, I usually shave my under arms every other day or if I am "letting them go" then twice a week. I also find that my body hair isnt too thick or doesnt grow back very quickly anyway.

Right now my armpits and pubic area are freshly shaved, but I haven't shaved my legs in about 2 weeks. I only see my partner a few times a month and I have to wear pants for work, so I can get away with it. I always keep my armpits shaved, since there's a pretty good chance someone would see it if I didn't. I go through phases with my pubic hair. Sometimes I shave it all off, sometimes I let it grow in, and sometimes I remove various amounts. I usually shave at least the labia before my period though because I don't like when blood gets caught in the hair.

No I hate hair. The longest I can stand is like 5 days where I might do it on purpose if I have not seen my boy in that time. When I shave after a few days, it is much smoother.

Yeah, I'm the same way. I normally shave ever other day, and my armpits every day. If I'm on my period, I'm not as OCD unless I'd like a little tongue-clit action or anal sex, but I'll cave in and shave after 4 or 5 days max. The hair on my legs is pretty fine, so I can get away with shaving every 3 or 4 days or so, but I just prefer to be smooth.

I might consider not shaving... but I pick myself to death whenever my legs touch each other and the filling back in of my nether bits feels itchy. So I've pretty much been bare for the last 12 years, lol.

I prefer keeping it shaved for sexy reasons also I just feel clean. I do go through periods where I let it go for a week or two... and then go bare again.

Long distance relationship perks indeed. I am in one too. I know what you mean.

I went through a not shaving phase at like 19, for a few months. Now, a week or so is the most I'll go. I'm not obsessive about shaving, it's sort of an afterthought in the shower, just a routine thing now.

I suppose you could say I am obsessive about shaving. I shave my lower legs, my pubic area, and my armpits every single day. I've been following this routine for about 20 years. It drives me nuts if I am not perfectly smooth. I don't even like to feel a hint of stubble. I do the shaving for my own comfort, not for anyone else!

I don't shave my crotch, but I do shave my legs and under my arms. My bf has too, and i like when he does. I just feel less sticky and icky when i shave, just kinda sucks my razor likes to bite me a lot and often.

My skin gets pretty dry and I'm always putting on lotion and can't stand the feel of the prickles on my legs when I do that, so I always shave my legs and my armpits, but with my cooch, I'll let it go until I know that shaving it won't cause any irritation.

My man is the same - I could let it all grow in and he wouldn't mind. I shave my legs, my girly parts, my underarms, and my arms from the elbow down daily because I don't like the way hair on my body feels. I don't mind it at all on other women, it just irritates me for some reason. I may have to slow it down soon though as my calves have started breaking out, I think I may be allergic to the tiny soap bar portions on my new razors.

During the winter my skin goes all grouchy and rebels if there is a razor in the bathroom so I generally only shave when I am going swimming and then it's only what is absolutely necessary. I keep my underarms shaved most of the time though

I have probably gone 2-3 months in the winter without shaving my legs. Probably not more than 2-3 weeks without shaving the underarms. It just gets tedious and boring and most winters I don't shave unless I have a special occasion I have to wear a skirt for or something where my legs or underarms will be showing. The husband doesn't seem to mind. He picks on me (jokingly), but he doesn't care. He hates shaving his face. He usually only does it once a month, so we're similar. Haha.

I never really kept track of how long I've gone without shaving. I don't let the hair under my arms get too long, but I have let the hair on my legs get pretty long. My hair grows extremely fast (I can save in the morning and by bed I've got stubble), so it's a royal pain to try to keep completely smooth. My husband really doesn't mind at all. There's been a lot of times that at the last minute before we go somewhere he has wanted me to wear a short skirt and has said he doesn't see any hair on my legs when I mention I have to shave. Mind you, I could be nearly as hairry as him and he would say that! I gotta love him for that.

I go through phases where I don't do it as often. Especially in the winter I don't shave my legs that often. I shave my armpits almost every other day though because I wear tank tops almost all the time. Pubic hair I trim once a week, but there has been times I've gotten busy and let that go and then all of a sudden there's a jungle in my underwear I need to take care of LOL.

My husband doesn't really care if I shave my legs, he could really care less. He'll remind me about my pits just because he doesn't want me to get embarrassed by the hair if we're out..because he knows I will.

Pubic hair he'd never say anything but I know he likes me more trimmed, and I like it best that way too

I shave less in the winter and also when I spend extended periods of time away from the boyfriend. I still periodically trim even then, though, because I can get a little self conscious or uncomfortable.

Only my legs. When its cold out and I'm not going to be wearing shorts, then I don't shave until I have too. But even in the winter time, since last winter, I still wear my summer clothes around the house because they're more comfy, so I tend to shave more then. I always, always shave my armpits and I only stop shaving my pubic area during my period.

I'm pretty obsessive about my underarms and my girl parts-- I shave them every time I shower. Legs, on the other hand? I could care less. I have very light, fine hair, so it's not really noticeable if I don't shave them. I'm more routine about it in the summer, but in the winter my legs can go for weeks without seeing a razor.

I agree. It is about one's individual comfort level. It's no one else's business what we do with our own body hair and, just as we expect others to not question our personal choices in this regard, we should respect everyone else's choices, too.

I may be considered compulsive about shaving but I shave something daily. I do it for me, as I just don't like hair and I keep myself totally smooth including my pubes. My partner takes it for granted but I know he likes it. Now it is just a matter of routine.
