Are you ready for some football?

Contributor: Sammi Sammi
It's hard to believe, but football season is right around the corner - which is a big deal in our house. Professional, college, even high school/pee wee.
How about you? Are you ready for some football? How hardcore are you? What are your favorite teams, if any?

I'm definitely looking forward to watching the Lions blow it this year. I become a Colts fan halfway through the last season and was surprised I actually had a team to root for in the Super Bowl. I don't even care that they lost. I just loved rooting for a team!

I really don't follow sports at all. Plus we don't have cable.

Neither do I. I don't see what the big hoopla is about. They are overpaid entertainers. Not that they don't play hard and take it seriously, but I'm not a fan of the big 3. Kids don't care for it either. They prefer ballet or karate.

I'd rather watch individual competitions, skiing, gymnastics, etc....

I rarely watch football except for the Superbowl and a few college games. My gripe is that this is a sport that females are excluded.

I hate football. My husband on the other hand, loves it, especially the Chicago Bears.

I'm a Football Widow! We got married in the winter, when the Bears were in the playoffs, and our honeymoon spot was selected (unbeknown to me at the time) by which area had Da Bears on TV and whether we could get to the destination by the time the Play Offs started.

I HATE football!

The Lions suck! (See? This shit wears off on me, after all these years.)

My Man and his friend used to take trips to Detroit, because tickets to Da Bears were so expensive and impossible to get, but you could drive to Detroit and just walk into their stadium, buy a ticket and sit down with NO planning when the Lions were playing Da Bears and watch the Lions get destroyed for very little money.

You mean that game were they kick the black and white ball in the net? LOL

Alright I know I know, ya I like the Broncos. Been a fan since the 70's when they went to the supper bowl. I don't really watch much since Elway left, just not the same.

Yes, hubby and I can't wait for the season to start! I never was a football fan, but hubby has turned me into one!

I'm not into football, baseball or basketball. One of the things I like about my husband is that he doesn't watch sports. Its such an annoying noise.

One time I lamented to my husband that it seemed that boring sports received all the attention in the Olympics but you hardly ever saw the sport I like. He replied, "What, synchronized knitting?"

I have no interest in American football, unless it's the Super Bowl, and only then I watch for the commercials and half time show.

Not a big sports fan. I prefer playing sports to watching it.

You should be glad that women are excluded! It's way too violent. I know there are some who think that anything a man can do, a woman can do better! True enough for many things - but why would women want to do some of the dangerous things men think up?

I guess the same goes for baseball, basketball, rowing, volleyball, soccer, tennis, hockey, tack & field - even golf! Come to think of it - is there any mainstream coed sport?

I could see coed synchronized swimming working well.

I would've thought you to be a Green Bay fan. I have a friend from Escanaba who said that most Yoopers (people from the upper peninsula of Michigan) were GB fans because they are closer to GB than to Detroit.

I'm the girlfriend/friend/stra nger that is too enthusiastic and knows NONE of the rules. I clap at the wrong times--that's really what gives it away. If I understood a damn thing about sports it would be probably make it less fun, though. As it stands, watching games is infintely exciting because I never know what can come next.

My daddy commanded that I love the Cowboys, though; Texan pride and all that.
Go, Cowboys... go? ....YEAYYYYYY!!!! And goddamn you, UT Longhorns. My TX pride does NOT extend that far.

Very true. I have only lived here a year or so, I moved from Colorado. I was born and raised a Bronco fan.

I think that most UP here are packers fan cuz they are packers, as in pack as much as you can in/around your house. Think redneck yard of the week. hehe

In our house, I'm thankful for the NFL channel, which shows reruns. Not for me - I prefer watching current games, but my husband needs his summer fix . Sundays are devoted to football.

We watch more pro than college on TV, although it's a lot of fun to go to college games.

I chose "take it or leave it" because I really can. I can enjoy watching a football game and actually follow what's going on, but I rarely watch a game. The last game I watched was the Super Bowl.

Uh. Mah. GAWD. I miss football soooo much. I like pro more than college (their playoff system is just effed up). My team is the Colts, baby! What I would do to Peyton Manning in 5 minutes...

*cough*

I have always loved football season. Watching the game with a bowl of hot chili while I'm in a blanket fort is just the best

I'm from Texas, where any type of football is the law.

That said, I love the Boise State Broncos and am a general Patriots fan. I was a 49ers fan, until they started sucking really badly.

I can't wait for football to start!
