I just wonder if there are any people on here who have never tried to fake such a thing to skip a day or a few to stay at home... :D
Are you one who never tried to skip school when you were a little kid by pretending you are sick? :D

Well, for example my grandpa was an as impeccable student as one could be! So I guess if he never had the intention to try such a thing there must be others out there too...

I was always trying to get out of going to school.

I loved going to school. If there was a reason I didn't want to go, I would say why I didn't want to go and then go just so that I wouldn't have to worry about make up work.

My mother let me. She knew I wasn't sick, but she also knew that sometimes kids need to take a mental health day too.
04/24/2012
Of course I did!
04/25/2012
Hell, I still do it!
04/25/2012
I would skip sometimes.
04/25/2012
i'd skip school sometimes
04/25/2012
I would usually only skip on skip day.
04/25/2012

Yes I have taken at least once when I was younger.

As a kid, I hated school! I hated leaving home and getting on a weird bus and going to a weird building. So I played sick frequently.

In some ways, I loved school. But, I was, in some subjects 4 to 6 years ahead of many in my class. Our school didn't double promote, so I was bored shitless by most stuff by 3rd or 4th grade or so.
Our district was and still is one of the worst funded in the Chicago area, and there was no gifted program, so they would put 3 or 4 of us out in the hall with The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn or something like that, and leave us alone to teach ourselves or send us down the the primary grades to "help" the teacher with the little kids. What do you do when you have read Huckleberry Finn 8 times? You try to stay home, so you can read what you like!
Yes, I tried to stay home as much as I could.
I didn't actually enjoy school (for the learning part) until I was in college and being taught things I didn't already know. I rarely missed a day of class at University, as I was interested and wanted to be there.

I never really skipped in elementary/middle/high school. I was very much a good student when it came to attendance. When I did get sick (usually only once or twice in a year) I would sometimes take an extra day just to fully recover, but my parents were fine with that.
In college I did skip a handful of classes sometimes, but did very well grade-wise. But I don't generally fake sick to get out of things.

I'm a prefectionist, so if I had a test that I didn't think I was ready for I'd pretend I was sick so I could have more time to study for the test.
04/25/2012
I skipped school by faking an illness maybe 3 times or so.
04/25/2012
I was quite bad for doing this when i got to high school =/ something i'm not ao proud of now
04/25/2012
I skipped so much school I almost didn't pass. I hated school so much. They should have kicked me out a few times, but they always tried to work with me. They would have been better off kicking me out. they had nothing but issues with me the whole time. The principle remembers me completely still to this day and it has been 6 years since he last saw me. He ask my cousins about me.

I have not done this. I'm boring like that
04/25/2012
I tried to get out of school as much as possible. Especially in Elementary. B| I hated elementary xD horribly.
I'd skip out on my medicines so I got sick and could run a fever etc. and not ahve to go to school... but this resulted in a 104+ temperature and lots of shots B| and i hate needles sooo not very good in the end.

My parents had it so easy. I was a naturally good kid (so modest lol).
04/25/2012
I pretended to have a massively life-crushing period to get out of school for several days because I had forgotten to write a paper.
04/25/2012
I sure did it a few times.
04/25/2012
Only in middle school did I skip
04/26/2012
i never faked being sick, but if i did not feel good I tried to stay home.

I remember when I saw ET and Eliot uses the light bulb on the thermometer to make it look like he had a fever. I thought, "Shit! Why haven't I thought of that?"
Of course, it didn't help that I was really sick a LOT when I was a kid. I got used to staying home and doing what I wanted. Shoulda been home schooled, but my mother never would have been able to handle it. I probably needed the social stimulation, anyway. I was actually a quiet kid.
I was terrible. I hated going to school for the most part after 3rd grade until college. Then I was happy to go. I was actually learning new things in college.

I was always blamed for pretending when I actually was sick, but I never pretended, I was terrible in school and knew I needed to attend.
I do remember one day that my foster mother thought I was faking. Ended up going home due to puking on the floor.

I was always "sick" in school.
Diagnosed with depression since age 8, been missing important activities ever since.

Nope. Never. It just never crossed my mind to do so.
05/18/2012
I tried to get out of school every chance I got. However, when I took a few college courses, I liked going.
05/18/2012
Well I'd have to say I'm kinda half and half, cuz I never ever missed a day of school k-6 was the elementary but when it came to high school 7-12 I was always trying anything to get out off school, Fake puke in the toilet, running the thermometer under hot water, coughing really hard, putting something really hot on my forehead, and acting like I had the shits lol anything to stay.
05/22/2012
i stuck my finger down my throat and made myself throwup once to stay home form school and it worked lol
05/22/2012
Yeah I've done it once or twice..

I skipped school a bit too often but I usually had a health problem so it wasn't always fake sick. Because of that it was much easier to fake sick since I WAS sick so often.

I'd use the hot water bottle and all.
10/06/2012
Whenever I could get away with it.
10/07/2012
Oh my gosh, I hated the kids at school! I missed every day I could possibly get away with while still keeping my grades up. If I had an A or a B my dad would let me stay home any day I wanted. I know that's probably wrong but hey... lol.

Me too. When I skipped I was geniunely ill %50 of the time, the other %50 I just hated being around such mean-spirited little a-holes.

Have an older sister and we skipped school a lot but only pretended we were sick a few times my mom knew better lol
03/12/2013
I never faked it other than senior skip day
03/12/2013
I never minded going to school but I think I remember a few days I was border line sick and chose to just stay home.. Now when I turned 18.. I took mental health days because my school would not let me graduate early and most of my classes where electives and they where a joke...
03/12/2013
I was severely bullied when I was in fifth and sixth grade so I'd pretend to be sick sometimes so I wouldn't have to go.
03/12/2013
Well, that's not me, I have done such a thing at least once in my life!
03/12/2013
I skipped far too much!
03/12/2013
I missed school too much from actually being sick to want to skip by faking sick.
