We were put on a "burn ban" a few days ago. I was just wondering how many others are going through a drought and burn ban?
Are you on a "Burn Ban" right now?

Our area went into a drought for a week or so, but there wasn't any ban against burning things.

We've been getting so many rain storms, we aren't going through a drought so no, we don't have a burn ban. A lot of my friends in neighboring states farther west say they have had one, though

We have been for over a month. There's been fires everywhere in Arkansas.

We keep coming close to one, but get just enough rain to hold it back.

Not yet. We have had a few good days of rain, so I think that's helping.

I live in VA where the bad storms knocked out the power for day. So no burn ban here.

Not yet--we are gearing up for one heck of a fire season, however. Hopefully it will hold off until we get enough moisture to prevent it from happening. There are already smokejumpers and hotshots training here and I see the vans going all the time.

Not yet, though I'll be moving to an area with a burn ban

We haven't had any rain for a month, so not yet (since there were fireworks the past few days) but if we don't get rain, then maybe. It's also been about 103-105 here with an average of very high 90's. I haven't left my place for longer than a few minutes. @_@

its been doing nothing but rain here lately the mosquitos are thriveing
07/05/2012
yes, but not like it is stopping the stinkin kids lighting fireworks on 7/5 and on... ARGH!

never had a wild fire in the east, as far as a burn ban for us that's everyday all year long, I live in a city were you can never burn
07/05/2012
Yes, we have one here.

We have been having rain lately, so we aren't on one. Usually, in my area they doesn't have them. But I live less then 10 miles from the lake. Out where my parents live they get open fire bans. Which means they are allowed to burn in a bin or drum, but not in the yard. That is usually what happens in our area. But again, we live right on the lake, so water supply is always here.

We've been on a burn ban all summer, and actually every summer I can ever remember. We have plenty of water (surrounded by 3 large rivers), but its always in place in the summer I think.
07/05/2012
It's been good this year so far.
07/05/2012
wrong part of the country for that. we had a big rain storm last night. Although we're not much for fireworks, or anything involving fire anyway.

It finally rained a little today but, we are still on the ban since it wasn't enough.

We had one from june to mid july, but then the monsoons hit us and we are ok now.

We live on an acre on an unincorporated area, and can pretty much do what we like. Meaning, we have few "rules" that are enforced. (Especially, since the police avoid our neighborhood like the plague.)
My Man wanted to burn some brush and old papers the other day, but opted not to. We had a hard storm yesterday (I was in a top heavy van on the Interstate at the time) but we'll wait to burn anything, to be safe.
Our neighbors, (many of whom don't give a damn about anything but their own convenience, have been burning regularly, even when we hadn't had rain in a month. Selfish self absorbed jerks.)

Yes, Texas has been for awhile. It was lifted for the 4th only and then put back on. All of our rain mainly came at the beginning of summer and it hasn't rained much since.

Have been since end of June, makes going camping hard...we try to only cook over the campfire. No fires of any kind are allowed here or the neighboring state we usually go to.
08/05/2012
We aren't one one.

I think Chicagoland was earlier this summer, but not anymore. I hope everyone is safe!
