Are you as scared as I am about the events in the middle east washing over to our shores?

Just today I heard that several college campuses were evacuated due to terror threats? I hope those were idle threats (and that whoever made them is caught quickly too)!!!

I won't lie. I am going to be very hesitant to go to large gatherings, like sports events, for a while (again)....for fear of what some evil loony might do.

Is anyone else terribly concerned for their own safety, right here in the USA,with all the anti American rhetoric and demonstrations happening overseas?

I lived through some race riots in the 60's and again through some in the 90's in LA. I do NOT enjoy seeing ANY civil unrest ANYWHERE...but the thought of terror plots here at home is really, REALLY unsettling.

Anyone else worried like me?

Can't be scared of anything that isn't happening. I can only be vigilant and do my best to not place myself near any government buildings.

"Don’t worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum."

How Scared of Terrorism Should You Be? You are four times more likely to be killed by a lightning bolt than by a terror attack.

The point of a terrorist attack is not to blow things up, it is to cause paralyzing fear, paranoia and discord. If we all become so afraid that we stop going about our normal lives then the terrorists have won. I think it is a good thing to be prepared — take a first aid course, be ready and able to evacuate quickly if required, keep fresh water and some emergency provisions on hand — but I'm not going to change the way I live because people are having a fit over a crappy YT video.

I'm not that afraid. I feel pretty safe in america. Especially compared to a lot of other places.

I agree with Petite Valentine, the fear that American's are feeling is exactly what terrorists want. I'm not too worried right now. When there's an immediate or impending threat, then I'll worry.

Anti-american? I just don't understand how because of one unrespectful person's opinion all americans are then labeled. I don't hate anyone from any nation. I am a person full of love for other people who respects others beliefs. As I'm sure many other americans are also.

Not really. I think things will calm down soon, but only if politicians and leaders shut up and do damage control like they should.

I'm concerned but not scared exactly. I have lived in areas just as volatile toward Americans in my life so I guess I am a bit jaded?

the thrill of the possibilities of the "Arab Spring" are quickly wearing off. the thin veneer of "democracy" that was the herald and driving force of these revolutions has begun to be quickly replaced by the autocracy of politicized Islam. i'm thinking more than a few people now are missing hosni and the stabilizing forces involved with those "regimes". it's really funny how mobs burn American flags in the morning and apply for visas in the afternoon

I'm concerned but I'm not scared either. I'm going to continue to live my life without fear. Living in fear and never going anywhere just lets the terrorists win because they want us to be scared. But I do admit, the video on the news of those people in Libya tearing up our U.S. flag was pretty unsettling to me and definitely got my emotions going.
