My GF always calls me a pessimist because every time after laundry, I always get socks with no pairs. My GF likes to call it an "extra" sock, while I fret about "losing" a sock. What do you think when you find a sock without a pair?

I'm a cynical idealist. I say to myself upon finding a sock, 'this is probably just the sock I am looking for, only I don't care to take the time to sort through my socks and find the other one with so many other pressing matters afoot.' (pun intended)

Same here. Plus, 98% of the time I'm in flipflops, so who cares about a sock? lol.

I save them and eventually another gets lost or a hole and then you can pair it with the spare if they are the same

I am in the other category!!! I buy all the same socks so if I loose one... It's all good!!! And all my socks I get as gifts are wonky whacky socks and who cares if they match!!!

... people keep track of how many pairs of socks they have? I just notice when I start to run out Then again, that may be because I only buy white socks, so they're all the same to me ...

Well, I'd be annoyed if I kept losing socks like that, but I consider myself an optimist for the most part. Plus I only really notice if it was a pair of awesome, fluffy home socks or something.

I'm definitely an optimist in most things, but if I lose a sock in the laundry, I'm a "lost sock" person.
