I can sympathize. My parents were equally as dysfunctional - but in different ways. But as you said, you love them and learn to cope.
Oddly I learned as much from parents about what what not to do - as what to do. It also motivated me to look around for better roll models. I was lucky to have great grandparents who although they were very 'old fashioned' were able to shoe me how to respect your partner and foster loving relationships.
