they are still in and good
Are pot pies still "in"?

I love pot pies, but they're more of a winter food, and in the winter I stick to stews and pasta. In the summer, when I crave pot pies, they heat up the house too much to be worth it

God, my mom and my nana made the BEST pot pies. I miss them. Probably one of the things I miss most about deciding to be vegetarian. They especially made awesome chicken pot pies.

I like pot pie, even now that I'm vegetarian I figure out how to make tasty veggie ones. Plus the vegan pot pie in my college dining hall is surprisingly good.

We used to have it all the time when I was a kid. Now that I'm an adult I tried it and it isn't the same.

I didn't know pot pies were ever "in".

I like pot pies a lot.

These friends were slightly younger, grew up in young families, and had NEVER heard of pot pies. So now I am curious! Are pot pies no longer a go-to dinner for families? Or is this an isolated incident with friends that need to get out more?

Man, I haven't made a homemade pot pie in years. I really need to do that soon because now I'm craving one! I do make a shepherd's pie occasionally that's pretty tasty.
For the vegetarians, I would think a veggie pot pie shouldn't be too hard to make. You should try one if you've never done it.

I love pot pies! I make a vegan/vegetarian version with tofu or seitan instead of chicken and lots of vegetables and most importantly, delicious mushroom gravy.

Only made them a few times, usually don't have the leftovers to make them with.

my homemade version is made in a small lasagna pan. i actually use premade pie crust. the crust is the best part. small serviings very filling because of how heavy the crust is. and i use a box of potatoes...like the au gratin ones, but cheesy

Over the Christmas holidays, we often have duck and do a pot pie with the left overs. Tasty.

Never liked them
10/20/2012
I mostly get the frozen ones now
05/10/2013
I like them quite a bit, and I don't think much about how popular food is. I just eat what I like.

In my experience, where I'm from, frozen ones are still sold in the grocery stores, but people don't make them from scratch.

Now I want a pot pie....
