I think it is a really interesting concept but I think it is a lot easier said than done. The fact that I am so stuck in my ways of doubting myself, it's hard to break that habit. Any suggestions for me from those who use this self talk?
Anyone use positive "self-talk"?

I started doing this recently. Especially if I am about to have a panic attack. I try to go through the motions of positive in my head. Or when it comes to other things I tell myself "no, fuck you you are talented." I think it helps.

I, like Starkiller, had to start using positive self-talk after I started having anxiety attacks.
It is hard at first, but as long as you're making a conscious effort to change the thoughts you're thinking, then you're moving in the right direction. Even if you don't believe it at first, still think positive... it will eventually become your new habit.

I think it is especially hard while having anxiety

Yes I have done a LOT of this. I credit most of my recovery from my eating disorder to doing this. I mean I still struggle but I think it has really helped me a lot.
The more you do it the better it works in my opinion.

Write down key phrases and memorize them with a positive picture. When you are in a situation where you need them, breathe deep, repeat the phrase and visualize the picture. Eventually you will just feel the picture and then you can work on a different area.
For example: When your stomach knots up and you start to get the doom feeling.
Say, "Tomorrow this will pass" or "Dread is fear internalized. I am stronger than my fear." Picture-water flowing calmly, swirling around the rocks, the sound, the breeze in the tree leaves. Repeat until it is a habit.

I also have an awesome book The Anxiety & Phobia Workbook. This book taught me how to use positive self-talk and I still use it when I feel like I need my mind refreshed. And it is great!!!! I highly recommend it!

I do and I need that moment to clear my mind and realistically think of the situation occuring, not the one being built up in my mind
