Anyone off work due to the weather (hurricane Sandy)?

I'm surprised no one has posted about this yet, but for those of us on the North east Atlantic coast it seems to be a very serious storm. Everything is closed (schools, malls, government offices, casinos, libraries etc).

Well my boss was ambiguous, but I know the other employees won't be in, so I am staying home too.

Thankfully, we aren't in the path of the storm. We are getting some of the high winds but nothing is closed here.

I'm in Southeastern Indiana, so not quite East enough or North enough either. Good luck to everyone!

I'm in Ohio. Our weather is shitty, but nothing ridiculous. Trick or Treat was rescheduled, that's about it.

My husband went to work today but they shut down early due to the road they use being flooded. He got stuck behind four trucks and 2 machines before he could get out.

Good luck and stay safe--to those in the path of and near the storm!!!!

I am in Montana and the only Sandy having any effect on me is my Pomeranian. Right now she is sleeping--we did call her Hurricane Sandy prior to the storm. (Her name is Sandy, by the way.)But since last week we shortened it to her real name so we know what we are talking about....say Hurricane Sandy and the hubby looks at sleeping dog--not good when talking about a storm.

We lost power yesterday with 2 hours left in my shift. So we went home. I have off today. Not much of a storm for us. It slowed down about midnight.

We lost power for about 13 hrs, but otherwise not too bad locally. The coast of NJ really got hammered.
