I was so amzaed and jealous the way they look more how flexible and strong they are!

Is there any possible way to get that way in your own home without needing a pole or driving somewhere for lessons? I mean I could buy tons of stretching, pilates, wor kout dvds like step areobics and strengh ones where you use weights and other things. I could get most of the beach body dvds like power 90,turbo jam and brazil butt too.

Right now though I'm trying to get this ibs under control then start working out twice a week on my days off for half hour to an hour on each day...see how far I can go with this diet and start moving a little more. I do move alot at work just standing up mostly or walking up and down stairs alot though. I eventually want to focus on getting their hotness lol.

Their bodies aren't like that just because they can do those things on a pole. They're just in shape. Sure they have strong leg and arm muscles but you can get that without dancing or twirling on a pole. They also must have strong core muscles I'd assume.

I thought the pole help them be able to bend like that so much I'd pretty much need one. I'm going to start with the goal of being able to do the splits then work my way to doing it as great as them. I;m so stiff and inflexible it will take ages and ages lol. Not even sure when I can start..have lots to do on my days off for a few weeks like sorting through clutter and relaxing trying to get this horrid ibs so I can actually get up to working out.

I think there are plenty of exercises that involve stretching that I don't think you'll find you actually need a pole for it. Try pilates and yoga, that should help loosen you up and allow you to be more flexible. Even meditative yoga helps me, I do that at our local gym and I walk away feeling so much less stress in my muscles which in turn allows me to be more flexible.

Among other things, I do intense Yoga. It relaxes me and helped my strength. I would luv to try the pole but nothing around here...staid New England.
I also work out in martial arts and kickboxing.

Any activity you can do on a pole you can do on the floor as well...it's how these moves are practiced when a pole isn't available. Dance excercizes will get you this body and should you then decide to take lessons make it easier for you to transition to using the pole. Get ready for blisters though! Still it makes you feel SOOOOOO sexy and when you can sort of ooze all around a pole using muscles to get into all sorts of positions it can turn a normally quiet reserved man into a tiger! (or woman actually)
It's great for both core work, and muscle work and I highly recommend it.

You can certainly work on flexibility at home. As for achieving a more fit body at home with no equipment, you could try one hundred pushups . Its a program where you work up to doing 100 pushups at a time in six weeks. This site also has links to 200 situps, 200 squats and 25 pullups programs. Each of these are great exercises. Do all of them and you'll work all the big muscles.

To get like THAT, you have to be in shape before you even attempt pole dancing. Those dancers use mostly upper body strength and their core muscles to balance themselves and do all that work. It's extensive work even before they TOUCH the pole.

Those women were awesome.

They must've put in a LOT of practice.

This is true. They have to have some serious core muscles in order to hoist and hold themselves at those angles.

Pole dancing is all about core strength and upper body strength. Yoga and light weight training can do wonders for both of those. If you need to work on losing weight as well as build muscle, then it's ALL about the cardio. 30 min of cardio at least 3 times a week, though more is better. Cardio is any type of movement that gets your heart rate up (jump rope, dancing...) but running seems to be the most effective. I personally prefer using an elliptical machine because it's low impact and I have a bad ankle.

Belly dancing is excellent core training as well!

As far as dieting goes, just watch your fat intake. You need some fat in your diet, but if you keep it around 50 grams a day or less (I think that's the right amount... 45 if you're a bit smaller), it'll help. Also, eating breakfast in the morning kick-starts your metabolism (so does exercising in the morning!). I don't really buy into commercial diets that say you can't eat this or that. It's all about a healthy, balanced diet with a little bit of everything.

Yep! A plan like this works for me. About 1,000 calories a day, lots of veggies, very VERY little carbs, and a bare minimum of 30 minutes of exercise a day has helped me lose 10 pounds in the past month

1,000 calories doesn't seem like much O.o

Also, for anyone who is interested, a calorie calculator! To calculate your basic caloric needs.

The first thing before you start you really have to know what exersize is and how it works. Alot of people think wow ime doing 20 minutes a day on treadmill and not loosing that much weight....you have to be realistic. Unless you are going to do extremely rigours and hard workouts dont expect to loose 85 pounds in a month. Be reasonable and be patient. Push yourself, but dont push yourself to a hard attack.

(the link is coming from military.com, but they can easily apply to home workout to. If you compare the information on there to actual routines in some videos the target the same exact stuff. Its a core fundemntal. Dont think just cuase the site it comes from doesnt mean it cant count for u)

link

look at fitness topics on the lefthand side. Spend some time browing through all those exept SpecOps Fitness and Close Combat because those are so not what you need. But spend some time borwing that should help.

And good luck girl

Hey kinky girlfriend, how did you type your link in? When I hover over it, I can see (at the bottom of my browser) the *actual* url it will take me to, unlike any other link in this thread and elsewhere in the forum. Other links just show the link to the page you're already on when I hover over them. What format did you use?

Thank you all for your replies. I'm not going to take lesson or dance lessons. If I'm doing something it will be at home. There are so many diffrent things out their and moves u can do at home. I will be looking into it more like step areobics, yoga, pilates, strengh, ball workouts, dance dvds..I'm sure if I have the right dvds and equiptment with time and work I'd get what I want..As of right now I have to focus on getting my health back before I even want to start anything.

Diet will be a huge obsticle for me I have to eat high soluble fiber which is in things like white bread, pasta, cream of rice,rice..I can't eat raw fruits and vegtables no salads for me with this ibs really hard on my gut I can only at small amounts of fruits and vegtables and blended and cooked to a mush..I'm getting the bad stuff out of my system I shouldn't have had in the first place which is dairy..I get streesed, depressed and pmsing I had ice cream really set me back. Dairy is a no no,no matter what for me I should slap myself lol. Caffeine, pop, juice messes me up. Juice should be healthy but its so hard on me causes gas, bloating and other problems. a smoothie with almond milk and a banana is easier on me.

I can tell you what I do eat because there is so much I just can't..So I eat skinless boneless chicken beast, shrimp, turkey hamburger and sausage (lowest fat one I can buy) turkey bacon, pasta, white bread..rice and almond milk, bananas, once in a while strawberries with seeds peeled off(too much insouluble fiber in the seeds)vegenaise (non dairy mayo substitute) I use smart balance or earth balance for another dairy substitute. I bought some soy yogurt(not sure if i'm ok wih it yet might cause bloating gas problems) I think I can handle some soy not alot I can have soy ice cream sometimes. non dairy chocolate in recipes using cocoa powder or non dairy chocolate chips but I can't have much. chocolate bothers me. egg whites(yolks upset me) I'm sure theres more can't think of it right now.

oh yes plan on buying a scale in a month from wal mart here is the one. link

under $30 and looks great..but if u think something else would be much better let me kn ow.
