I posted this as a discussion earlier, but realized I made two big mistakes. One is that "commentary" is probably far more accurate than editorial. The club would be examining and constructively critiquing opinion or commentary, not combining forces for an editorial. Two, I realized a private poll might be the best way to test who's interested, that way someone is able to express interested without committing publicly. Although comments would be appreciated.
Here I'm pasting the original text explaining the idea.
The club would be similar to Eden lit in that every month people would offer up writings as well as ideas for others to read, review and refine, but it would be exclusively focused on opinion writing. These could be thought articles for Sexis, letters to the editor, the school paper, writing to politicians, or anything like that. It would be for people who have ideas for articles, but want a sounding board before submitting.
Articles might be political in nature and involve controversial topics, so decorum would be paramount. The discussion of the articles would have to be limited to its style and strength of the arguments and not the topic, so a level of maturity may be necessary.
So, anyone interested?
