Just wondered if anyone else is really attempting to lose weight. I know I can't be the only one. I am down 5 pounds. Ninety-five to go.
Anyone else trying to lose weight? How is it going?

I have been thinking about losing around 20 pounds, but have not made my mind up yet. I guess I am hoping that this year will be good for riding the dirt bike--melts pounds off and tones me up in a hurry!!
Good luck on your weight loss--I know you can do it!! The first 5 pounds seems to be the hardest...then the last 5.

I lost about 5 and am stalled...need about 15 more.

I am kind of trying to lose some, but I am not very serious about it. I've increased my protein intake and try to eat less sweets and baked goods.

Well, I'm probably the only fat person in America who HATES chocolate, but the problem is there are plenty of other sweets around that can substitute for chocolate.
Just did two miles of Walk Away the Pounds. I weight daily to keep record of fluid fluctuations, and I'm going to have a good weigh in this week!

I'm trying but it's hard to stay focus Especially with a ton of drama that has gone down since the year begun.

I'm having a difficult time shedding 10 lbs. despite how much I workout each week. I average about 10 hours a week of working out - lots of aerobic activities, too.

I'm trying to lose nearly 100 pounds. I do not keep track of my own weight, because of my past history with an eating disorder, but I keep track of my fitness level and my nutritionist tracks my weight.
I go to the gym at least twice a week, allow myself no more than one portion of fried food once a month, and subsist mostly on whole grains, lean meats, fruits, and vegetables (though two pieces of dark chocolate and two all-natural cookies a day to keep me from over-indulging). As of the beginning of this week, I have gone 19 months without purging, can row at maximum resistance for 10 minutes without stopping, can run for 30 minutes on an elliptical without getting winded, can do 150 crunches, and can leg-press 220 lbs.

I am currently trying to change my exercise and eating habits in order to lose weight and get healthy. Problem is I looooove food, all most more then I love looking good. Problem is you can lose weight without exercise if you change your diet enough, but you can't lose weight if the diet doesn't change. That's my weakness. So far I have lost five pounds on four months. haha. Not so great.

I have been exercising walking and jogging 3 miles per day 3 days per and I'm 59 this year and also changing my eat habits have lot 10 pounds so far in 5 months. Also trying to get off all RX meds I have been taking for 12 years acid reflex meds. I have also lowered my cholesterol by 60 points without any RX just by exercise and changing what I eat. I' haven't dieted, yes it can be done without going on a diet. You just to be dedicated.

I am trying to lose 10 pounds, but I guess my focus has been more about running since I have a 5k coming up.

I always consider myself to be the lucky fat girl who loves to overeat healthy foods like greek yogurt, healthy cereal, salad, avocados, watermelon, etc etc etc. It's ridiculous how little you have to eat to lose weight.
We can do it though! We should keep this thread alive to give each other lots of encouragement

I have to agree how little you have to eat to lose weight. It's crazy! lol

I've lost 18 pounds in the last 17 days on my current diet.
04/20/2013
I went from 145 to 130 in a couple months from eating at home and most days except for Monday's where we choose a place to eat at. Also, going to the gym (although the past week I have been bad by not going), drinking green tea, and listening to binaural beats/isochronic tones for weight loss works for me.

Yes and not doing well at all. I don't have anywhere good to exercise! How do I exercise when the apartment floor is like paper and the area I live in is a bad neighborhood so no jogging?

Have you tried a DVD like Walk Away the Pounds? It's just walking in place in front of the TV. Might that work for you?

yikes, that stinks! Would you be willing to sign up for a gym, maybe a bit of a drive out of your bad neighborhood?

Or maybe, if you work or go to school in a nicer area, consider jogging there?
You should also check out the exercise videos on Hulu (in the Health and Wellness section), they have some videos that are more focused on strength and less on jumping around
Good Luck!

I went from 160 a year and a half ago to 115 now. I was never fat, just chubby, but now I am very tiny.
Cutting soda out of your diet if you drink it will help a lot. Cutting out beer will probably help too if you do that.

No, I do neither. I don't like to drink calories. Even as a child Mom wouldn't let me drink whole milk because she was worried about me drinking calories. (A shame, too, because I hate 2% and wish I would have drunk milk as a child, would be better for my bones now and in later life. So as a child, I REFUSED to drink milk.)

I can tell you that my personal weakness is CHEESE. I cut it out all the time but it always sneaks back
05/01/2013
I had a very bad week last week. Won't say how much I gained.
You know, about cheese, my doctor told me that dairy calories are easier to burn than calories from other items, so he said to eat a lot of dairy. I eat more cheese when I'm trying to lose weight because it seems filling to me. Esp. those Weight Watcher cheeses that are portion controlled and like 50 calories.

I am back on my weight loss plan. I lost about 50 pounds last year in 3 1/2 months, and am now refocusing myself into the same plan. Will update as I progress.

Been trying to lose weight most of my life actually, but I'm down about 30 pounds or so from where I was this winter.
I lost about 10 of that in just the past month or so because I started walking again.
=3
My end goal is somewhere between 150-200 pounds, I figure it's a nice compromise for my boyfriend and I.
It's a skinny enough weight for my goals health wise and looks wise, but retains some of the pudginess for his tastes because he prefers chubby gals.
