Do you have anger issues? nothing extreme just mild i guess. I have a problem with yelling. nothing huge, but enough to matter. If my kids push me over the edge instead of walking away i yell. if i get in a fight with my hubby (which we only do like 2 a year) i get super frustrated and resort to yelling. so my question is to you, what do you do to stay calm?

I don't. I keep everything under control.
03/12/2013
Yup. But I mostly have it under control. (There was an incident a few years back and after giving myself a boxer's fracture from punching a metal door repeatedly, I decided to get a better handle on it.)

Not really. I only do when I'm really anxious or depressed. I can usually control it but give me some alcohol and I'm blacked out screaming at my partner.
Thankfully, he understands that I don't mean it.

i have a mood disorder, bipolar to be exact, and when i was younger would have "rage attacks" where i would be out of control angry and was threatened to be "sent to the hospital" a couple of times unless i calmed down. I have since been medicated and learned how to control my anger and deal with problems rationally, but everyone had their days where everything gets to them and they get snappy or a little more angry than they should.

No. I haven't ever had anger issues. My emotions get way out of whack during my menstrual cycle time and I'll be very frustrated and aggravated and just flat out annoyed in general. I hate that feeling. It's so un-peaceful! I'm usually a very peaceful person though. Anger is something that kind of scares me. I can't stand yelling and crazy anger. I get mad and upset, but hardly ever just raging angry.

What do I do to stay calm? Oh dear. It can be hard if I am upset! I clean. Like a mad woman. Especially if I am mad. I write when I'm mad. Often times writing is the first thing I do when I get mad about something. It also seems like I have a broom in my hand the second I get pissed off. Lol. I don't know why cleaning and writing is my way of dealing with it.
Other upsets, it helps to blow it off by just jumping on my fitness pole and wearing myself out. That's really the only way I know to really calm down -- wear yourself out. Lol.

I do sometimes, depending on the situation.
03/13/2013
It depends on the person and the situation but I do have a temper sometimes.
03/13/2013
IF I don't get enough sleep I do. I fly off the handle at little things and traffic always! Otherwise, I'm very mellow and laid back all the time.
03/13/2013
I'm pretty mellow most of the time. If I feel myself getting stressed and emotions threatening to get out of control, I exercise. That always does the trick for me.

I used to have more anger problems. I still get angry sometimes, but nowadays I'm more likely simply to say "I'm angry, because _____" than to shout or whatever.
In the heat of things, I remind myself to breathe, and I breathe deeply a couple of times before releasing my automatic response.
As a long-term strategy to stay cool, I make sure to get enough sleep, exercise (3X or more a week) and meditation (few minutes every day). Works for both of us!

It depends on the situation at hand.

My hubby does, but we are trying counseling to get him to work on them. It is going better than I thought they would.
03/13/2013
Yes, I have anger issues but I've mellowed with age.
03/13/2013
Not really
03/13/2013
I don't have anger issues, but I know of a couple of people in my life that do.
03/13/2013
I have a temper, yes. I get irritated with things more easily than I should. But it's only verbal, never physical.
03/13/2013
I used to but I've learned coping mechanisms.

Not really. I get angry about a lot of things which is its own problem, but I've only really exploded on someone a few times.
03/14/2013
Nope, I try to keep things in perspective.
