Adult, yet I still don't drive.

I am an adult, but I don't drive due to a disability I have. I feel odd and out of place, but if I were to drive I'd die. Is anyone else like me and how does it make you feel?

I don't drive due to a traumatic experience several years ago. I have depth perception issues that make it difficult to judge the distance between two objects and it's just safer and better for everyone if I stay off the road.

Yes, it's limitations can be a bit hindering, but after awhile I just learned to deal with it. My husband doesn't mind driving me to places I need to get to when it's necessary.

Well, I drive, but I get out of it when I can...particularly in the city. The traffic makes me extremely anxious, even as a passenger.

My SO lives in Europe, and though he has a drivers license, he does not have a car. With public transportation, it just isn't necessary. He walks most places, and takes the bus or train when he has to get anywhere not within walking distance. That can still work in larger cities in the US, but for those of us in more rural areas, that isn't really a choice. Hopefully, you have enough support that you can get wherever you need to be

I don't drive due to anxiety/cerebral palsy. My girlfriend lives in NYC, thus, she doesn't drive either. You're definitely not alone in the adults that don't drive club.

I'm 18 and I don't drive.. I probably could if I wanted to, but I just don't feel like it It's kinda weird though because so many people just want to get their license and drive as soon as they can, and I'm just indifferent about it. Oh well, those of us who don't drive don't have the responsibility or financial strain of taking care of a car, so it's not all bad :3

My boyfriend is 30 and doesn't - he can't afford to run a car, lives close to shops/town and like walking. I'm 19 and I don't. Can't afford it either, and am glad to not have to worry about finding car parks and road rage

I don't drive right now. I'm 25, and extremely afraid of driving. I have started taking driving lessons though, so that I can learn. I just live too far out in the middle of nowhere to not drive right now.

I'm 23 and still don't drive. I just don't have any interest in cars. And there's no need. I've nowhere to go.

I'm turning 24 this year and I haven't even bothered with a learner's permit, it's increasingly common for our generation apparently. An article in newsweek said that less and less people are getting their license or driving.
According to the article we're "generation screwed". =|

I don't drive due to being incredibly ill myself. Not to mention, I am on a lot of heavy painkillers, so driving is impossible for me most of the time. You are definitely not alone; I try not to let it bother me, but there are times when it depresses me.

Here's an EF group hug for you, though. I know how it feels to be young and unable to do such things that most people take for granted.
