I have seen users posting a few things in the forum recently and I swear I've seen them posted before almost word for word. Has anyone else come across this?
Has anyone seen a forum post that has already been posted by someone else?

I suppose it could be one of two things: it's an older post that recently got another vote/response and is popping back up at the top of the list. Or: someone is point-farming and doesn't want to get caught so they just copy and paste someone else's question to make it seem legitimate.

Well I definitely saw someone (wont say who) post two brand new, never commented, forum posts today that I SWEAR I have seen and voted on before. I think that I even may have been the one to have posted one of the questions. It may just be me and my bad memory but it's honestly bothering me! I tried to search and find the exact post from before but it's hard to find.

I'm not sure if I see things worded exactly the same, but I definitely see the same topics coming up as new threads. If they seem fishy, I'll flag them as spam, otherwise I just try to ignore them.

I know what you mean - I started the first 'do you name your toys' thread and I've seen five others do it since. The Search Box should be used more often if it's a legitimate question.

I've never seen that before. That is pretty funny. I can be blamed and pointed at that I have posted similer topics a couple of times. It was only because the one that was already posted did not have ANY replies, or the replies were like "yes" "no" "maybe" stupid annoying crap. I've never copied one word for word, or used someones elses question.

Some topics are very common to ask about, and a lot of people want to be the one who started the awesome thread that everybody talks on, rather than the person who just commented on somebody else's awesome thread. (My theory anyway)
I have seen a lot of repeat threads, and some old threads that aren't relevant anymore floating around. It'd be super awesome if people would use the search feature, but to play Devil's Advocate, I'm pretty sure that we've all started threads on something that already existed.

I'm newer to the forums and I guess one of my questions had been asked before but I did not know that. I got my answer though (it was about glass dildos) and the people who replied were quite polite with letting me know its been asked before. I'm sure most repetitive posts are not done on purpose

You can click next to the bolded words at the top: Last Update, Topic, Date, User...and change the way the page loads for you, just like on the product search where you can change it to show by relevance or rating.
When you enter a topic into the search function, just click on the Discussions tab to show all of the threads started with that keyword. You can also find contributors this way.

Well I don't mean like similar questions. Everyone does that and doesn't know. But when it's 3 paragraphs long and literally like word for word... that's kind of annoying!

Holy monkey! I didn't know about this, this is awesome! Also, I was wondering if you needed to find someone how could I find them. Dang, I've learned a few things today.

There ya go! Glad I could help. I've used the search feature to find contributors who had funky spellings or characters in their names. Usually just entering the first three letters will bring up a pretty solid list and then I pick them out visually using their icon.

It's the same search bar everywhere on the site, right up at the top. Search your keyword or whatever, and choose between products, reviews, contributors, forums, etc

I see this from both sides of the issue. Someone may come into the community new, and have a burning question they want to pose to others. Things like "what can I do to make anal sex easier" "What do I do when my partner does ___?" etc are common and many newer members don't realize there is a search function.
On the other hand, I see threads that are started with most likely the main intention of point gathering. "Do u lik to du it" Things like that.
If I have already answered the question or concern and I think the poster is really being honest and needs help I WILL repeat my answer again. If I think it's just someone trying to gain points, I ignore it.

I always use the search feature before starting a post, making sure I'm not duplicating a similar question, but sometimes I'll miss an almost identical older post listed in a totally unrelated category.
