But you assume that the general idea was always there; you can easily imagine that an early version of the Golden Gate Bridge was going to be blue instead of red, but you assume that it always looked roughly like the Golden Gate Bridge and not some crazy bunch of bullshit.

I took architecture classes in college, but never really learned about the original designs of any of these buildings. Well, ok, they're not all buildings, but still. I thought it was neat to read about the original designs of some of these iconic structures.

Somehow I already knew the Mount Rushmore story, but I did *not* know about the Space Needle! Neat! And I only knew bits and pieces of EPCOT, that was cool.
