"Date" movies.

I'm of the opinion that romantic comedies, and other movies whose primary story line is a romantic one, make horrible date movies when you've first started dating.

I'd rather see an action flick myself.

Do you think romantic movies are bad "date" movies? Why or why not?

I think something neutral like an action movie is better, yeah. That way there won't be any awkward romance conversations after.

I like comedies or action for early dating period.

As long as two individuals agree on a movie, I wouldn't say anything is a bad movie. Just because it happens onscreen doesn't mean he thinks he is getting a replay later. lol.

I would say it depnds on the actor and subject matter of the movie.

I guess it depends. Whatever two people both agree on is fine.

Action movies are better because we both like them. Romantic comedies are more his thing.

It depends on the tastes of the people on the date - some people really do prefer genre more than mainstream. Besides, people chose what movie they see together, it's no longer about the guy choosing it and believing that the only movie the girl will like will be a chick-flick.

I guess they could be. We went out and watched comedies and action movies when we first started dating. Saved the romantic ones for latter on in our dating timeline.

It's not my first choice of movie personally, but I don't see anything wrong with them.

I don't like romantic comedies, so I would not choose one for a date period. But I think action or horror are best because they are neutral and with horror you can snuggle up to the person and hide behind them if it's scary!

Personally, I think that romantic movies are just bad movies. I wouldn't enjoy watching them on date night, but I wouldn't enjoy watching them at any time. I don't think that they make for an enjoyable experience watching by myself or with a partner, and thus for me, they'd be one of the worst choices for a date movie in my opinion.
