But what will that tattoo look like when you're 80!

If you have ink, you've probably heard that line or some variation on it before.

My new response is to forward this link to people and say "It will look like I have lived an interesting life, full of stories and memories that were worth the pain and effort of having them put permanently on my skin..."

These are some awesome pics of great ink on older bodies. Kudos to the subjects!

I love the way black ink fades out to a weird, strange green. It looks so lived in, like it has some sort of story, just in the way it was worn.

Ahh! I loved that post when I first saw it floating around tumblr!

I only have a small tattoo and a handful of piercings now but I'm planning on many more, and I just imagine that when I'm older I'm going to look like I did something I loved instead of wondering about what I'll look like 50 years from now.

Whenever people say that to my wife, she says, "When I'm eighty I'll look bad anyway. It won't just be the tattoos."

Gotta say, old people with tats are badass.

Gotta say, they all look amazing! :3
Also...that woman in the second picture down is actually pretty damn hot (third pic up from the bottom, the guy's not bad either).

Every time I see an older adult like that with tattoo(s) I secretly imagine that they're someones "cool" grandparent.

I agree. Besides, it's not like I'll have a pristine body as an 80-year-old anyway. A bad looking tat is hardly going to destroy my image

Wow, that second lady looks AMAZING for her age. I don't look that good naked now. *weeps* I also love her cherry blossom on her arm. So pretty!

If I look like those people then I will be happy as a clam...you know if I ever get over my fear of pain and get inked!

My response is...I'll be lucky to live that long, and if I do, it's my wrinkly, inked body, and I'll love it the same.

That is great, and remember if your body is old, you don't have to be. Plus when you are older you can get away with anything!!!
