Shopping Deals

Where are you shopping on this mega-deal weekend? Share your secrets!!

I got some GREAT deals at Oldnavy.com. BarnesandNoble.com is also having some nice deals, like 40% off one book if you use your Mastercard - and they have a 'bargain book' section online that's got really discounted stuff. I'm currently at Sub-shop.com(bondage store) looking at their sales, and they've got a few good ones too.

I forgot to go to Oldnavy! Shit! Haha. Thanks for the heads up. I'm glad you got a good deal!

I bought a new camera. Got my brother $120 worth of Xbox games for $78. I didn't do much shopping, as I have been mostly done for awhile.

My secret? I start shopping in February. I hit up sales, clearance racks, and the huge semi-annual sales most stores put on in June. I'm on a super strict budget (being a student). I usually get a ton of stuff for way less money.

Oh, yeah. I get a lot of stuff that way, too. You usually get summer stuff - tank tops, shorts, some camping supplies - for really cheap near the end of August/beginning of September. And I love the after-Halloween sales! I got one of Rich's Christmas presents then - a French Maid outfit for me for half price!

I was a French maid for Halloween! I went to the store on Oct. 31st, my BF knew the sales guy, and I got my costume 80% off. I love a good sale!!

I really hope Rich enjoys the outfit, though I'm certain he will!!

Nice!!

And I hope so. I haven't told him, I'm just going to surprise him with it.

Three words: Amazon Prime account. I shop in my bathrobe. You can even get condoms and sex toys through Amazon these days, though I generally stick with Eden for a better selection and more reliable service.

Actually, I got up early, went to a few places.......drove frantically back home when I saw the freakin huge crowds this year and shopped online mostly. I did get sucked into the ebay $1 doorbuster deals a couple of days ago and frantically searched..successfully finding and being too late on several of the nintendo wii listings for a dollar yesterday. While beating my head against my computer monitor, I came across this very interesting article for anyone else who has gotten sucked into the ebay thing: link It figures!

Amazon rules! I don't even have to pay sales tax through them! I still devote 90% off my adult toys purchases to Eden as usual! =)

SHHH! You do have to pay sales tax. There's a special place on your state tax form for online or any other purchase that you didn't pay tax on!!!

...wait, omg, you're scaring me. I order things online all the time, but I don't keep track of exactly what everything cost me after I get all of my bank statements, since I keep them for a year. Should I be freaking out now?

I know on my state tax forms there is an area where you have to claim all purchases you made without paying tax on. For most, this is online shopping. This may not apply to all states.

Sounds like Maine! If you buy things online THEY want the sales tax even if the company you purchased your items from didn't. If you buy things in New Hampshire (which doesn't have sales tax), MAINE wants the sales tax. If you FLY and LAND your plane into Maine (even if it does not stay) THEY want $20k.

That's the way Ohio is. I thought all states were that way.

*Runs around in panicked hysteria screaming, WHAT HAVE I DONE?!*

Hmm, not sure if my state is like that or not for sure though honestly. My tax people have never asked. *wink* I do NOT think it's fair that my brother lives on the MO and IL state line and HE can go into IL and buy his food without paying taxes on it. I just wonder if he has to actually eat it in IL....=P I actually don't understand the majority of taxes for this "here" and no taxes for that "there"......it's just weird......

If anyone's interested, Amazon is having specials on Wii games today..... =)
