Quick rant

Contributor: Miss KissThis Miss KissThis
I am new here (and very well aware of that) but it's almost disheartening to see so many other new reviewers not putting in much effort, for lack of a better term. It seems as if so many people are going “Oh look! Free toys!” and then doing reviews without putting thought into them.

It's a shame to see reviews where possible questions and specifics (material, cleaning, etc.) aren't addressed whatsoever. I would love to read more than just “it feels good in my pussy” or “it made me cum quick” because that doesn't tell me much.

Please excuse me, I just needed to rant. I'm so glad to be a part of this community. There are so many knowledgeable and helpful people involved with EF, and I appreciate the fact that you all put so much time and effort into what you do here.

It's likely some of those reviews are not verified (free toy) reviews and just people reviewing things they have already used. And if that's the case, this poor quality will likely not get them invited into the verified program. I know I also see some frustratingly poor reviews.

However, I must say I'm a bit tired of hearing about the cleaning stuff. Safety and health, while important, does not need to be force fed with every review.

I know what you're saying about the cleaning in every review.

I was mostly referring to toys with more than one material or when they talk about sharing. There are a few times I would have to click on the product to see the material, only to find out it can't be sterilized.

They're unverified.

I guess I just feel like if you're going to put your time into doing a review, why not make it a good one?

When I first started reviewing you actually had to be accepted into the program- you had to email the manager and submit some work. Now anyone can be a reviewer which has its plus and minuses. The review program has grown to astounding numbers and thats fantastic but unfortunately, that means that people don't respect the program the way they used to. I've seen some positively poor reviews but it's up to us to comment on them. It's heartbreaking for people to recommend vibrators made out of jelly to be shared without condoms or to use vibrators without flared bases in the ass. Reviews like that make it imperitive for us it's us to put in our 2 cents in the comment field so people reading the reviews know that what those reviews recommend actually aren't safe practices.

A lot of people just submit the required reviews it takes to be upgraded with little regard because they figure anyone can get free toys.

I'm actually glad to see more about hygiene and cleaning in the reviews. I had no idea about those issues until I started really reading more about toys on this site. In fact, I bought a strap on that is so hard to clean and nearly impossible to cover for sharing because I didn't know those would be issues until I got it.

I would for someone to buy a toy based on a review, without knowing they should use a condom on it, and then wind up getting something as a result.

I tend to write my reviews as if someone who has never bought a toy at all will be reading it. I know that many of us read each other's reviews, but I also know it is those very reviews which bring new customers to this site.

(I've ranted in other threads about the review qualities... so I'll refrain here.)

This can be confirmed by the staggering number of reviewers with two very poorly written reviews who have never done anything beyond that.
