I keep seeing adds galore for the new 3D movie Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Maybe it's just me, but I would never want to see it. I think it's such a stupid idea. First off, poor Abraham Lincoln! Probably rolling over in his grave right now. Plus, why him? I did read somewhere that it's based on a book, but how about choosing a more believable vampire like Hitler or Stalin or something, lol. What do you all think? Would you go pay money to see it?
Would you see Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter?

Maybe? I love Tim Burton, so that part of me wants to see it. On the other hand - Abraham Lincoln as a vampire hunter? Just a weird idea.

It looks different, and fun
06/23/2012
I'm planning on seeing it, it looks good. Plus I love Tim Burton movies.
06/23/2012
Hell ya Great book!
06/23/2012
Doesn't look appealing to me.
06/23/2012
I'm on the fence about it.

absolutely not. I haven't paid to see a movie in a long time. Definitely would not be this one.

I agree the story would have been more interesting with a more contemporary figure but it seems interesting. Ooh, maybe someone like Benedict Arnold would have been interesting.

I want to see it.
06/23/2012
The premise of this movie is ridiculous. Would I watch it? Yeah probably. Would I pay for it? Absolutely not.
06/23/2012
I just came back from watching it, it was good.
06/23/2012
I wanna see it but I'll probly wait until it comes online
06/23/2012
Probably wait for DVD
06/23/2012
Lincoln isn't a vampire, he is a vampire killer in this movie. Big difference.
06/23/2012
I'd go see it if I got the chance. It looks fun.
06/23/2012
Tim Burton. Of course I'll see it!!!

I have to admit it has cinematic appeal just from what I've seen in commercials and trailers, but the story is just a bit too far out there. Haven't decided yet if I want to actually see it.
06/23/2012
I love Tim Burton but I doubt I'll go to a theater to see it, I mean even the name sounds so ridiculous (and I only saw the trailer once so far, when I was half awake). I'll probably watch it once it hits the movie channels we get out of a firm personal belief that Tim Burton can make even utter crap enjoyable to watch. x'D
06/23/2012
Definitely, I love Tim Burton.
06/23/2012
I'll watch it whenever they put it on TV, other than that I'm in no rush.
06/23/2012
I definitely want to see it, but I'll wait until it's on dvd. The story sounds different and interesting so now I'm curious how they'll pull it off.

Isn't this based on the book that adds horror elements to classic books? Hated the books but maybe the movie translation would be more interesting.

Would and did, it's hilarious. It's only loosely based on the book
06/24/2012
Because it looks so stupid is exactly why I want to see it
06/24/2012
I wanna see it. Heard the book was great
06/24/2012
It sounds so bad that it might be good.
06/24/2012
No, the idea to me is just ridiculous.

Speculative fiction has never been my niche (my mum tried to get me to read these books about Nazi aliens in World War II once) but I took the plunge and saw it for free because my boyfriend works at the theater.
I have to say, as far as history fanfiction (which is what everyone knows speculative fiction is) goes it was pretty adorable. As with any fanfiction, Lincoln was a bit OOC and he only had one wife, but I have to say that I loved every character, it had great pacing, and if you can just laugh at how ridiculous it is (because the movie knows it's ridiculous, hence the title) it'd be worth the matinee price.

I'd read the book first.
