When I actually sit down with the intention of watching the news, I will turn to HLN and get some stories.

Something else I love is NewsFix. I'm not sure if that's just a local CW news spot or if it's more national, but I love it. They offer up a lot of daily events in 5 minute or less news spots. It's very easy to follow, and a great way to get some news in me.

I need to be honest, the only "newshows" I'll watch (aside from the actual news, which I watch several times a day) are 60 Minutes and Sunday Morning.

20/20, Dateline etc have turned into emotionally manipulative trash, as far as I'm concerned. These shows are NOT "News." IMO, "What Would You Do?" is base and illiterate. My husband calls it, "How much shit that isn't your business are you willing to get involved in and risk getting punched in the mouth for?"

There used to be days when I'd have CNN on in the background all day. Now, they just seem to cycle through the same 3 stories as if NOTHING else in the world were going on.

It really depends on the stories they are airing. I generally try to avoid news stuff, but I admit that I really love sensational stories.

I don't watch news much. But out of those listed. I wouldn't watch them. I do watch here and there NBC nightly news.

20/20 and dateline are pretty good. 60 minutes isn't up here and great! We used to use clips from all of these in some of my college ethics courses. I've never heard of 48 hours though. In any case I don't add anything to their viewership either way; I have no non-internet television service here (so the only news show I get to watch with regularity is the Daily show, and I don't think that quite counts XD).
