Used book stores.

Used book stores. Occasionally I'll go a big box book store but I love my used book stores in town.

I find books all over the place including online. Mostly I like to try and support the local used book stores or small local shops that sell books (among other little trinkets).

Sometimes I buy new, but other times I go to garage sales and shop on sites like Amazon that sell used books. The only time I buy new is when I just simply can't wait to have it.

I buy them at yardsales or thriftshops.

I buy online more: amazon.com, half.com, betterworldbooks.com.
In person I look around at used stores and goodwill.
I also trade at paperbackswap.com and bookmooch.com.

I like brick and mortar used book stores. It's like an activists dream: local business, reuse is better than recycle, reading and learning are involved at cheaper than corporate prices, no shipping prices or gas guzzlers involved, and sometimes a cat is allowed to wander about the stores.
