What do you guys think of this year's Oscar nominations?

Okay, so I know it was kind of a weak year for movies, but I feel as though the nominations were off this year. I can't believe Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Ides of March were snubbed for best picture. X Men was overlooked in several categories. Pixar got no nods. What do you guys think.....discuss.....

I think Harry Potter is the only movie I have seen in the past year, so I am totally out of it as far as the nominated movies go, but it's hard to go wrong with some of the nominated actors and actresses.

The fact that Michael Fassbender was snubbed and Leo Dicaprio YET AGAIN waqs snubbed has destroyed any interest I might have had in this years Oscars

Agreed, on all points!

I kind of think awards shows for movies and music are silly. The point of the mediums are to entertain and box office and retail sales should reflect the value of the production in question. In other words, actors/actresses and musicians are spoiled enough in salary alone, they don't need trophies on their shelves to further prove the point.

I don't watch awards shows, and I really don't care who wins what!

I kind of don't care but I'm really glad Melissa McCarthy was nominated. I really enjoyed her in Brides Maids.
