I have read the book and watched the show. I've got book #10 to read and I am really excited about season 4 to begin. I Love the books more than the show, however I think Allan ball has done a good job with the show. My two favorite characters are: Pam, which I think they nailed her down to a "T" and Claudette, which, I think they kinda butchered. But yeah I like them both very much!

Excatly, Pam is awesome and Claudette and the whole fairy thing kinda blowed in the show. I am wondering what Claude will look like, Romance model with huge muscles and gorgeous face....hmmm will they find someone like that to play the part? I wonder. I hope!

Yeah, I love the books more than the show, too. The show is pretty cool, too. Except for the fairy story line, they kinda made that a bit silly if you ask me.
Not long until the new book comes out, and then soon after, the new season on HBO. Wish they would time these a little better so we have some Sookie action over the winter, too.

I think I have read eight of the books, maybe seven. I read them all in a few days. LOVED the story, but because I wasn't able to take them with me, I spent every moment I could reading so the story line in my head reads like one long book not separate ones. Very fluffy, not a lot of thinking. One of those books where you can just turn off your brain and enjoy escaping into the story.
I also really enjoy the TV show (warts and all). I think Sookie is whiny, and Bill is an emo (emotional/ touchy feely man that is what emo means right?)... but take them with their warts, they work in the series. I adore the quiet manliness of Eric and it has only been in Season Three that I began to find him attractive because his character. Now... if I could have had my way??? I would have loved to see more of Godrick.... oh my stars!!! From his first appearance on the screen I was drooling. First man in a very long time by looks alone I drooled over.
And then Pam. Spoiled little one... but I'd do her!
The thing I like about this series; book vs TV, is usually it is always one or the other. But this one; they are different enough to enjoy them both based on their own merits.

I wonder if they will actually put Claude in as a Character? I am curious on how or who they will have him. I was disappointed with the whole fairy aspect of the show. Also wasnt claudette like 6 foot something in the books? she was tall and in the show she wasnt that tall.

The show is rather different than the books and sometimes it's hard to seperate the two. I just think to myself "alternate universe" and it makes the changes in the show easier to watch. Dont get me wrong I love show and cannot wait for the 4th season to start up in June....Grr....June needs to get here quicker. The teaser videos hint that they will be bringing in the witches.

I don't like vampire movies or books at all.

I don't think they're going to put in Claude. They kept Lafeyette WAY too long and he's kinda become Claude.
I just finished book 10 the other day.

I do not watch the show but since so many here seem to like the books I am going to look for them at my library or Amazon and give them a go.
