Just wondering, Does anyone else miss the X-Files? Did the show make you believe?

The current show "Fringe" on FOX has some of the same themes. It's very good.

Never watched it because I couldn't get into the show.

I was a huuuuge xfiles fan when it aired. Only during the Mulder years though. But when I say huge, I mean huuuuge. I was in about what 2nd to 6th grade ish during the hayday of it. I was such a big scifi/alien nerd it was sad. I had the shirts with aliens that said I believe. I dragged my mom to roswell, new mexico. My room was a complete shrine to aliens and ufos. They were on every shelf, stuffed animal aliens, posters hanging.
But I dont think xfiles caused it because I was a freak before that. (thanks dad for basically letting the comicbook shop guy babysit me while you bought toys hahahaha) I think xfiles made my obsession worse. But now Im pretty laid back. I love aliens and ufos and scifi just as much but Im not showing my nerd colors as bad.
Let me add that I had no friends because of this. I was that nerdy scifi kid in the movies that everyone looks at like they are from another planet. lol.

I do miss the X-Files. In fact, I just finished rewatching an episode on Netflix a few minutes ago!

X-Files had occasional episodes that involved aliens and black oil and Scully's abduction but Fringe has a much more cohesive overall story arc.

As much as I enjoyed X-Files when it was on, Fringe kicks its ass.

Watched it occasionally, but never really followed it religiously.

i <3ed this show growing up. watched every episode had the series all on vhs but when everything went to dvd i think i sold it. i miss it. I like the movies too, the show was better though. ps david ducovany is super hot (mulder)

I like Fringe - much more so than X Files. I always viewed Mulder and Scully as caricatures. The cast of Fringe (if this was possible in this setting) feel much more tangible.

I was in high school when it came out, and loved the first few seasons. Then it started jumping the shark with Scully's abduction and just began grasping straws from that point on. My best guy friend and I were known as Mulder and Scully (yes, old time EFers, the same Mulder) because I've always bobbed my red hair (points at icon) and he was a skinny dark-haired guy.
I wrote a few episode for my friends and me to film for ourselves, but we never got around to doing it. Too bad.
Yeah, loved the early part of the series, not hot on the later parts, haven't watched the movies. I'd like to remember when it was good.

I've never watched X-Files.

I own every season, all the movies, and am awaiting the day someone makes a porn parody. XXX-Files, The Truth is In You.
My current X-Filesesque fix is Haven on SyFy. It's like they just set the whole thing in Maine.

I bold|loved] the X Files. I was absolutely in lust with David Ducovney. (sp?)
I saw the first movie, but I have not seen the second. My Man always preferred the funny episodes to the more complicated ones that related to the "Origins" or whatever they called it. The vampire one with Luke Owens and the one where they pretend they are married in the "planned community" were two of our favorites. "Woman, get in that kitchen and make me a sammich! Did I not make myself clear?!?!" My Man says this all the time, and it's so funny. ('Cept he means it. )
They left too much hanging in the end. WHY was Mulder at the farmhouse where the people were murdered? When did Scully get pregnant? Where the HELL was Mulder's sister, anyway? Too much I didn't understand at the end of the series.
