So, did anyone catch it last weekend? (10p on AMC?)

What'd you think of it?

LOVE LOVE LOVE it and cannot wait for episode 2! I felt palpable anxiety and tension. It was gripping. LOVE IT.

Btw, Rolling Stone did a good write up on it - a full page.

It already got approved for season 2!

I have all the comics/TPB's to current and the story is just so moving with strong characters. I love how the creator is also the director of the show.

It was meh for me. I probably won't tune into episode 2. It reminds me of BBC's Survivors and 28 Days Later. I know the comics came first but it just didn't really grab my attention.

YAY! I'm glad to hear it! We watched it last week and I didn't think I was going to like it but it turns out that I love it and can't wait for the next episode!

You have to love zombies and be intrigued by a zombie apocalypse to get into it. I don't know why I like zombies so much, but I do.

I really dislike the whole horror genre, but good zombie stories are always about themes beyond just the horror, which is why I tolerate (maybe even appreciate, to some extent) The Walking Dead. That, and I can't exactly ignore it when JR's watching it less than twenty feet away

I'm kinda of indifferent zombies really. I'll watch it once and that's about it. I did watch Trailer Park of Terror last night. That was pretty good but I probably wouldn't watch it again.

The creator of the comic is the director of the show? How close has the show followed the comic storyline so far?

not too far off. They've added more than taken away. I think the main reason for that is pacing of the story in tv vs. comics. They can do 5 mins on tv what it'd take a whole issue to show.

They dumbed it down a WHOLE lot for television which sucks; I've seriously never seen such awkwardly overt cinematic foreshadowing re: last week's rooftop scene. But still? Better than like, 95% of what's on television and I plan on tuning in faithfully. Plus I have a huge crush on the Chinese (I think?) kid in the baseball cap and hope to see more of him. Yum.

***SPOILER***

If they stick to the comic (why wouldn't they) you'll see Glen for a LONG time.

Oh, I know! Trust, I'm super geeky about comics. I just have no idea how they plan to render the comic on the screen. His character plays an integral role but that doesn't mean that the actor will necessarily get lots of screen time, if that makes any sense.

Anywayz, my point is that the actor is a total cutie and I hope he does in fact get lots of screen time (nods)

Here's a great investment, should the zombie apocalypse ever come...
