I just finished watching The Brandon Teena Story, which is a documentary. I don't think I had heard about this before watching it.
I felt myself getting really angry during the film, especially whenever Sherrif Laux was being interviewed. If you've seen the documentary, did you get mad too? If you don't know about this case or documentary, basically Teena is transgendered. She gets raped by two men. She tells this Sheriff but during his interview with her, he doesn't even sound concerned about the rape. He just keeps asking her things like, "why do you go after girls if you are a girl?". Even Teena says at one point, "I don't understand what this has to do with what I am telling you".
The film is from 1998 so it's not new or anything (just new to me). Have you seen the documentary or had just heard of this? What are your thoughts?
