Depends on the movie.

Sometimes it's done well. Other times, it's just simply terrible.

Typically, I hate remakes. There are a few that I can think of right off that weren't bad or better than the original - Little Shop of Horrors, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Piranha and The Thing come to mind. Fright Night I'm curious to see, since it looks like it'll be scary and not campy.

It's very rare when I like a remake better than the original.

Edited, because I sounded quite stupid . I prefer originals. Unless I've not seen the original. However, in my experience the remakes often lack the quality that made the original so good.

The only one I looked forward to was 'The Last Unicorn' when it was going to be live-action. But the project got dropped. I hope it gets picked up again before Christopher Lee and Angela Lansbury pass on.

There are a few remakes that are decent, but I would prefer they just let sleeping dogs lie. I'm pretty upset about the Dirty Dancing remake. And I just found out they're making an Alien prequel. *eye roll*

Most of the time I prefer the original. However, a few have come out with decent remakes. Also with that, sequels to movies usually are never that great...its too drawn out.

I think there are some pretty good remakes out there. But I don't think that there is a rule one way or another.

It really depends on the movie, and how well the remake is handled. One of my favorite movies is the Ocean's 11 remake. It's just so much damn fun to watch!

The problem is: if the original is good, then the remake has a lot to live up to and it can be hard to do that (though it does happen). But if the original is bad, the remake will have an easier time. Also, a lot depends on how much changes bother you. To me, getting irritated over changes usually isn't worth the headache, so long as a film still stands fine on its own. Heck, sometimes changes can be for the better.

A lot of them are bad that are remade. I usually like the original. It does depend on who is in the remake and who directed it too. That makes a difference. Wish they would stop with some of the remakes and come up with new movie ideas.

Normally I prefer the original, but sometimes the remake can be very well done.

Depends on the movie. Some remakes are really good.

I'm all about the original movies. I love old black and white movies, and sometimes, people attempt to put color to those--it RUINS everything. Likewise, I think an old movie is good because it's just that--old. Why spoil it?

I usually hate remakes, but some of them alright. It all depends on the casting, script and if they're looking to re-ignite the franchise, rather than just remake a movie. Hopefully Ghostbusters 3 will do it properly and it won't flop. I loved the original.

it all depends on the movie imo. Like others say, some are best left alone. Though there's some terrible movies I'd love to buy the rights to and make those better lol

It really depends on the movie for me. I have seen remakes or reboots of movies that are fantastic (fantastic enough for me to buy), then there are others that left me feeling like I will never get that hour and a half of my life back.
