Probably best remembered for the character of George Jefferson from All in the Family and the later spin-off, The Jeffersons Sherman Hemsley passed away today at his home in El Paso, Texas, at the age of 74.

I watched the reruns all the time when I was little. I feel a little sad now watching them on YouTube and realizing most of them are gone.
