There have been many and there will be more. I recently saw the remake of 'Red Dawn'.

Is this poll specifically about Red Dawn or remakes in general?
I watched the Red Dawn remake this weekend. I am a BIG fan of the original, but I also liked the new one. I thought there were enough differences and similarities to make the remake interesting.

I have not seen the new one yet. I loved the original. It was a great movie.

Have not seen Red Dawn, new or old. But generally I don't like movie remakes.

I've never seen Red Dawn, but 90% of the time I prefer the original.

I like to watch remakes, though I don't necessarily like them more than the original.

I've been meaning to see the remake, but I'll probably end up preferring the classic unless they really made an amazing story

I haven't seen either.

I have not seen the remake of Red Dawn but the original was okay. I am looking forward to the remake of "The Evil Dead" even though I love the old one.

I have not seen it.

I think remakes are really hit or miss. Sometimes they're pretty good, sometimes they suck. I think it probably has to do with budget and who's involved in the making of it.

the original was slow but albeit it wasnt awful like the new one. they took the overall theme of red dawn into the new on but they really killed the movie in my opinion they changed everything about it. red dawn remake really only needed more action sequences the over all theme , that is the overall sequence of scenes could have been kept in the script and then they could have added more action and less downtime I was COMPLETELY LET DOWN by the remake

To me, remakes never quite live up to the original, and there are few that can stand alone as good in their own right.

I do like some remakes.

Some are good, some are bad, some are ok. There are certain classic movies that should never have been remade though.

I cannot comment on Red Dawn since I have not seen it. Remakes can be good; it all depends I guess.

I haven't seen the original, or the remake of Red Dawn.
There are a handful of exceptions, but most remakes seem like just another way for studios to milk viewers for more money without having to come up with a worthwhile new idea.

Most of the time the originals are great occasionally the remake is "as" good. The biggest thing modern remakes have going for them is the high class special effects.

I have enjoyed a few remakes, but I don't get it. I think if they want to revisit an older franchise, why not continue a story. I think all the re-booting is what annoys me the most.
I really enjoyed the newest Spider-Man movie, but it annoyed me that the old Spider-Man series is still new, why reboot it already? There is 50 years of Spider-Man comics to pull ideas from, yet Hollywood keeps retelling the origin story. What a waste.
I really hope Disney doesn't reboot Star Wars.

Honestly it depends on the movie in question. I've seen plenty of remakes that we're horrible in comparison to their predecessor, or some that really worked out the concept/problems that were in the original, sometimes surpassing the first movie. My favorite remake that was recent is I Spit On Your Grave. Both films were great in their own way, although the classic is probably still my favorite, even though the remake has a lot more gore.
