I was watching a Man of Steel trailer last night and noticed in the comments that a lot of people think that Amy Adams is not pretty enough for a female lead. I personally think she is gorgeous, but I can see that she is more of an intelligent beauty rather than a sexy kitten typically seen in action movies e.g. Megan Fox in Transformers. Do you think it is a growing trend to somewhat desexualise female heroines in order to make movies more appealing to female watchers? What are your thoughts on this?
Lack of sexy bombshells in superhero movies.

In the comics, women are over-sexualized to appeal to male readers. I like seeing a balance happen.
I loved when people made fun of it on tumblr
Mary Jane from spiderman pose replication
The ridiculously sexual costumes and weird poses that defy human anatomy, etc... Escher Girls tumblr basically explains it all.
Rob Liefield should be convicted of Crimes Against Anatomy for male and female characters haaaha.
I also like in the interviews for The Avengers when all the guys got the deep questions about their characters and then Scarlett Johannson was always asked "So, how did you get in shape for the role? What was your diet like?" kind of questions. Idk.
