I let my prime membership expire...I wasn't really using it. The book loan program and streaming videos were cool, but the selection was limited. Did you keep your prime account after the trial period?

I love love love Prime. Two day shipping really can't be bested--everything else is just a perk.

I don't buy from Amazon enough to keep it.

Yes. We renew our Prime every year. We buy books like other people buy food. (Well maybe not that much.) It's nice to be able to order one thing if that's all you want and not have to pay shipping.
I have a NOOK, but I hate dealing with B&N customer service. We buy a lot of books, both during the holidays, the rest of the year for ourselves and for the kids. So, Prime pays for itself.

I'm pretty much loyal to Amazon. They've treated me wonderfully, as a customer and as a seller. I have a Kindle Fire, but I'm not using it nearly as much as I expected, especially now that I have a smart phone. I really just love my physical books way too much, I think...Even when I go on vacation, I still end up bringing three books PLUS my Kindle. Even when I buy textbooks that are related to my future career, I prefer to have physical versions for my future library. I wish I used it more often. Maybe when the prices of the books comes down a bit? I can't justify spending $12 on an e-book when I could get a paper and ink version for the same or cheaper.
But I digress! I also buy food and household supplies and tons of other stuff on Amazon and the Prime two-day shipping has definitely paid for itself already!

The fact that all of our family benefits from it too is nice.

Student Prime is nice when it's free, but I won't be renewing it.
03/05/2012
I loved my free student membership before it expired but I don't use amazon enough to justify keeping it.
03/05/2012
I don't buy enough for it to be worth it.

I love my prime account, but I admit, I don't keep it for the Kindle features. The free streaming videos and shipping options are what do it for me.

Same here. It was awesome at first, but I just couldn't justify the price when I rarely use Amazon.

My Mum loves hers, and she shares the 2-day ship with me.

I do most of my shopping on Amazon, and with the price of gas steadily increasing the cost of Prime is well worth it for us.

never had it

I loved prime for shipping stuff, when I had it

love Prime well worth it. I did a trial for it around black Friday and was worth it just for that.

Nope, let it run out.

I now own a Kindle fire and can see myself keeping prime.

I did but only because of the 2-day shipping. I buy a lot of dvds/video games.

I used to have a student account so when I got my fire, after the month ran out, I had the opportunity to get it for half price. I had to get it and I can keep it for 4 years and only pay 39 dollars each of those years.Seems worth it to me. There is the movies, but also I can borrow 1 book every month from the lending library. 12 books at about 5 bucks a month or more definitely cover the cost of prime.

Not for me, the prime selection was just a bit too limited. I don't really use it enough to cover the cost of it personally.
