Probably read, because there are infinitely more books in the world than TV. Not only that, but it's easier for me to find a book I'm interested in than a TV show.

I would choose TV. I use to read a lot but now I barely have time. I need quiet time and my house with a 2 yr old running around right now is not quiet.

I'd pick reading. You could watch all the worthwhile TV there is in about a year if you tried. You could read for the rest of your life and still not get through all the good stuff.
