I love scary movies. I prefer psychological horror movies over very gorey movies though because I find them more scary.

Psych horror is better than gore. Gore gives me nightmares, but psych horror is like icy fingers up the back.

My uncle used to have his own line of psych horror stories/comics that he wrote and drew back in the early 80's, so I've grown to appreciate the intellectual horror more than the visceral horror of finding new and unique ways to maim/kill somebody.

I prefer these as well but I watch any horror movies. I love them! My top fave movie genres are comedy and horror. I don't like watching horror movies by myself though. Someone else has to be there with me (usually my partner).

I personally get no enjoyment out of being scared. I avoid all things scary. lol It all started with a haunted house when I was like 5 or 6.

I love scary but I prefer psych horror to unnecessary gore. It's so hard to find good ones though... I hate most comedies, I usually find them stupid and annoying rather than funny.

I love the horror genre. I feel like horror movies are a safe way to look at our fears and live them out, which is thrilling. The adrenaline is great.

About the comedy, I agree. Especially the movies that are coming out recently. My partner says I'm really hard to please when it comes to comedy. Sometimes a joke can be "okay" but if I'm not laughing to the point it hurts, I'm not impressed LOL

I like scary movies, but I don't watch them in anticipation of being scared. I watch them more to value the work/creativity that went into them. I love a scary movie with a unique plot or effects, instead of the generic formulas that get used over and over.
Some of my favorites are Dead Birds, Ginger Snaps, and Kill List.

I love them but I understand why people wouldn't, the same way I don't enjoy roller coasters but I know some people seek their thrills that way. I seem to get more drawn into a storyline if I have some emotion riding on it and the one most easily gotten out of me by media is fear I guess.
