when i was young, TV Guide was a blue screen with white text that advertised what was up next. later they split the screen, showing tv shows on top, with the listing below. Then they shrunk the listings further for their "coverage" of various awards shows. As of my writing this, "The Story of Us" is showing on TV guide, with no listings at all. their lineups seem to consist of 90's sitcoms and old movies. I understand that listings are not as relevant these days due to the internet, both for listings and watching TV as well as remote based channel searching. What I do not understand is their strategy. What is it, show random old programs, ??? profit? My reasoning is that when they ceased to show actual listings, they should have either discontinued the channel, or come up with theme of programing like Cartoon Network, TV land, or some of the other channels.
what happened to the TV Guide channel?

we have listings on our tv guide channel at school. but at home we have direct tv, so listings are up on a separate page.
