Has anyone seen any kid friendly movies lately? I need some suggestions, I can't seem to find any lately that are rated G and don't use the words that sound similar to swear words to make a joke. Any little thing would help.
Good kids films?

Studio Ghibli has a lot of fantastic films for children that can still be enjoyed by their parents. 'My Neighbor Totoro', 'Ponyo', 'Kiki's Delivery Service', 'Castle in the Sky', 'Spirited Away', and 'The Cat Returns' all come to mind. Though don't assume they're all for kids because they're animated - 'Princess Mononoke' is very violent.
Then there's just showing them older films in general. I watched a ton of Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, and Marilyn Monroe movies when I was little - good music, dancing, fun stories, and good jokes.

I love Ponyo! I need to just go out and buy the set. I use to have a Totoro when I was a teenager. I need to get my son one.

Yeah, Princess Mononoke was a little heavy for me - at 23. It's quite an intricate story, too.

Most of the Ghibli stories are... though most of them don't have the buckets of blood. 'Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind' would probably also be too heavy for kids. I can't speak for 'Porco Rosso' or 'Pon Poko', as I haven't seen them, but 'Pon Poko' is very culturally Japanese. As in, it features tanuki, which all have enormous, malleable, magical testicles.

This! Sadly a lot of newer kids' films just don't seem to be as quality as some of the older films in general. I am a fan of family films from the 80s and 90s.
