I don't like gore movies, but I like scary movies like Dark Water. No part of the world steadily produces "the best" movies, though many of my favorites are from Asia.

I couldn't say which country specifically makes the best because I haven't sampled enough from each, but two of my favorites are Audition from Japan and Inside from France. Ichi the Killer is more of a gorefest than real horror, but I love that too.

I love both of those - particularly Audition.
