When I first heard they were remaking it, I flipped. Footloose is one of my all-time favorite movies, and one of the few "older" movies I love (It was made two years before I was born, no offense everyone). Judging by the trailer, they're trying to modernize it while still keeping old elements??? It confuses me and looks terrible, regardless of whether one loves Footloose already or not.

The trailer looked pretty good to me. Of course I'm young enough that I have never seen the original Foot Loose. Does that mean I'm disqualified?

Hadn't heard this but will probably give it a shot.

Always willing to give remakes a shot...I hope not to be disappointed though!

Oh, I remember I was in High School and we did a play, I got to do the vocals for one of the scenes for Rusty, because the girl who was acting as Rusty wasn't able to hit the higher notes, and for the rest of the play I got to play various background characters. It was a ton of fun!

Back on topic though! I will give it a shot, but I hope they don't mess this up like they have with so many remakes!!!

OMG - my wife loves the original. It seems likes it's on an endless loop on some cable TV station. Not a fan myself - I could care less.

I wouldn't go into it with any great expectations, but I'd still be curious to see it. From the trailer, it looks like it at least has some impressive dance moves in it.

Well, I do kind of feel that the original Footloose is outdated and irrevelant to today's kids, that doesn't mean that I want to see the movie remade. I imagine they're going to muck it up by throwing in salacious dance moves and that wasn't what the movie was about in the first place. It was regular kids, dancing in a respectable manner that was still deemed inappropriate.

I never saw the first one. It's about a guy who gets people in an Evangelical community dancing, right? No, I never saw it.

I never watched the original, I have no idea if I ever will. I guess it depends on if my honey wants to watch it. I am not a fan of a lot of remakes, really it is getting annoying, come up with some damn new ideas already!

You've heard the saying there are only seven original jokes in the world? Well, there are only 14 original movie ideas.

I don't think I can separate myself from the orig. Just like with hairspray it was OK but through it all I could think is the orig is way better.

Oh so true - Hollywood is just one bad remake after another! Save your money believe me you've seen it before - it just had different actors.

I didn't like the original, so the remake isn't something I'll be watching either.

I totally agree, which is why I loved the tag line for the Glee movie that's coming out or is out now---save your money, it stinks. Or this thing sucks, can't remember exactly how she phrased it.

It was like when they took Dangerous Liasons and turned into Cruel Intentions and then Cruel Intentions 2 and Cruel Intentions 3, with the latter two of the four being exactly the same as Cruel Intentions. Same plot, same theory, virtually the same lines, just different actors.

It was like when they took ... more
Well - we just take advantage of Hollywood's demise.

Instead of dinner and a movie - we prefer dinner & sex - or sex and dinner, or sex, dinner and more sex - what ever works!

I like the way you think! We haven't been to a movie theater in, literally, years. We wait for it come out on one of the networks and then we watch it.

I don't care. I just hope that the movie's failure will teach filmmakers that remakes are rarely good, especially if you remake a movie that already has a big fan base. However, they will probably forget and remake another popular movie.
